[Sampled with the duo Svoger & Svogergylp at DØE, Valby, 2009.] Fantastic brew with smoothy porterbody added with licorice, smoke, spices like chili, almost no chocolate, coffee and indeed a great brew...I would like to live in Helsinge. Move soon!!!

Pours deep black with very small brown head that quickly vanishes.Smells cough syrup. Aromas are roasted malts, coffee, black chocolate, cough syrup, licorice. Low carbonation, medium body. Long roasty and cocoa finish. Not really balanced, nor pleasant.

Sampled at CBF 2011. Smoky roastrd aroma. Big amber head, black Roast, coffee choc, demera, port. Creamy mouthfeel, honey finish ciffee retronasal, rally nice.

Bottle @ Food Festival, Aarhus. Black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. Easily the best beer I’ve had from Kølster. 070913

Pours a clear and dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is malt, lactic acid, licorice, cold coffee, chocolate and ginger. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness. Overall a beer below average.

Black colour, tan head. Aroma of liquorice, dark bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and caramel. Flavour is rather sweet, liquorice, lots of malts, some caramel. Bit light body. Sweet bitter finish.

Bottle @ DRBM. A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of coffee, with dark malts with fruit. The taste of dark malt, coffee with alcohol. It’s burny with some spices. The aftertaste of alcohol with spices, bitter wit some sweet.
