Bottle from Hasegawa. Big bready, banana nose with clove and nutmeg really standing out. A bit of citrus (possibly from the hops?) as it warms. Super refreshing and easy drinking. Solid. shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 28, 2014
Keyaki. Quite light, grainy and not so much banana. Taste is good, light sweetness, bit fruity, pineapple, quite strange bit I like it. maekchu (4064) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUL 20, 2014
Tap at GJBF Osaka 2014. Very solid banana nose, full and fruity, almost pungent and sharp. Cloudy peach juice color. Thin wheaty initial, goes to a mild harsh bitterness in mid, and then becomes smooth with the fruit again. Thin-medium body. Sweetish and tasty. Nose is way up there, flavors good. Aroma Weizen, bottle from Asahiya that was served in a tulip. It is a cloudy light gold with a big fat thick head. A nice spicy aroma, lots of cloves & a bit of cinnamon? Very refreshing, nice light bodied beer with good malts, lots of weizen spices a great summer drink. Served cold, so good I couldn’t wait for it to warm up so I didn’t get much extra hoppiness, damn tasty though - it really hit the spot. Wombata (627) - Kobe, JAPAN - JUL 16, 2014
Aroma: tart green apple, wheat, light banana aroma.

Palate: the carbonation lifts the mid-palate and carries on through the finish.
Flavor: green apple, coriander, mineral, and banana. Green apple returns on the finish.
Comment: lovely head of foam. This is tarter than most Weizen beers I’ve tried, though it reminded me of a Plank Weizen that I had sampled earlier in the same afternoon at the Hanshin Dept store event. Refreshing and great summer beer.

Hazy yellow color, good white head, some lace. Aroma has spicey coriander and some banana. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Flavor is banana - not very sweet - and coriander. A bit watery palate. Interesting but not very good. Westkyoto77 (640) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 15, 2014
Draught at Bungalow. Cloudy gold with thick creamy head that dissipates quickly. Lemon and orange everywhere. Creamy and smooth, almost like a Belgian wit. Rounded short finish. Just tangy enough, with delicate flavours. Would have liked a touch more depth, but a great beer nonetheless. KyotoLefty (10718) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 14, 2014
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2014 Tap at Bungalow. Cloudy, pastel orange-gold with a tall, thick, foamy head. Aroma of lemon and orange on top of banana and clove. Slightly more citrusy hop than the regular. Hoppier flavor, too, citrus and grass. Not super hoppy, just a bit more. Bready wheat, but much lighter then the regular. Rather summer. This one was a bit flat, but I think it was the tap system. Draught at Bungalow. Slightly cloudy, nice frothy head. Aroma has lots of banana with some floral notes. Flavour is light and copies the aroma. A lot less cloying than most weizens. Very refreshing.
