3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy amber golden color. Thick white head. Very odd nose of candied pineapple, phenols and cloves. Not really appealing. The mouth is somewhat buttery, hoppier than usual. Not overly balanced. Clovey finish. Average.
Tap at Gar Eden. Bit of a coup for them. Golden yellow colour. Slightly hazy. Big white creamy head. Aroma is lightly spicy, very creamy, vanilla. Taste is great, wheaty, sweet, vanilla ice cream, banana. Great stuff. Nice and dry. Maybe I’m a sucker for the marketing, but this was great.

It’s nice enough, but another example of a Japanese company sticking the word ’premium’ on something with no betterment of the original or as is most cases, producing an inferior product. Drinkable and refined. Had high hopes for this, but I’ll stick with their original classic weizen if I have the choice again. KyotoLefty (10523) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 14, 2013
Draught at Tokyo Dome “Furusato Matsuri.” Deep gold-orange, fine head. Quite a bit darker than the regular. Rich weizen nose, with nice, citrusy noble hops kicking in as well as the banana and clove. Rich and clean, hoppy, smooth. Delicious, with peach, banana, and sweet orange flavor. Cleaner and hoppier than the regular and, at least today, quite a bit better!
