Slightly cloudy brown color. Bananas cloves and a touch of milk chocolate in the nose. Full body modestly sweet. Very carbonated, but good mouth feel. Fairly heavy. Rounded banana chocolate milkshake finish. Nice stuff

Keyaki Fall 2015. Cloudy brown with a nice latte colored head. Smoked bacon aroma with some banana, clove and cacao as it warms up. The chocolate flavors paired really well with the banana. Rich and creamy mouthfeel that hides the ABV well. The smoked flavor is an added bonus and not overdone. Awesome.

Bottle from CBB.
L: pours a murky cola with a good finger of off-white foam. Plenty of lacing.
S: not so strong, weizen wheat and spice with a hint of smoke.
T: this was one that really needed to warm up. At first it was a weizen taste, kinda disappointing and stunningly light for 7.3%, then it sat a bit and the malts really came to the fore, dark fruits and slight alcohol. Much better.
F: again, fizz and weizen spice only at first, then the richness dominated the mouthfeel.
O: let this one sit for a while to really enjoy its characteristics. A good weizenbock.

Draught at Raku Beer in Hiroshima.

Pours a dark mahogany with a creamy white head. Smells delightfully hammy. Taste has some sweetness but the smoke is the highlight. Fairly rich and very smooth. Superb.

Banana trat, butter, bacon, smokey finish. Another great Fujizakura brew, smooth, rich and smokey.

Bottle from Asahiya. Very nice smoke, roast malt, sea weed, and light banana nose. Dull muddled cloudy brown color. Ripe fruit, mild prunes, good smoke, some bacon, and light chocolate. Medium body. Very tasty. Good spiciness blends well with the smoke and fruit. Really like the aroma.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2014 Keyaki. Bacon and sweetness, good mix between smoke and Weizenbock sweetness, bit of banana. Lightly boozy but very drinkable.
Second time, I’m thinking more smoked cheese. Still very nice though.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2014 Bottle from CBB. Lovely smoke, wheat, chocolate nose. Aroma is lovely, but it doesn’t jump out at you, though the flavor does. Huge, smoke, banana, chocolate, cloves. Shit. Dark, cloudy brown. Not all that pretty. Lovely flavor. Sweet, rich, smoky, brilliant. Much better than on tap last time. Age has settled it.

Tap at Keyaki 7/4/8/4/15. Wheaty nose with smoke and caramel. Light smoke flavor, but full and rich malts, some chocolate, caramel, weizen esters restrained. Very tasty and good, but not quite the knockout I expected from them--seeing as their Rauchbock and Weizenbock are world class. Still, want to try more.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2014 On tap at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. Shared by Shoulderbroken. A slightly opaque brownish pour with a beige head. Classic weizenbock aroma though mild, solid flavor a definite cut above most of their seasonals. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is a good rauch smoke followed by weizen spiciness. A very satisfying beer.
