Chocolate and Munich malts galore form the base of this healthy cereal celebration, also developing toasted bread and caramel-coated raisins for this most satisfying Doppelbock.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the dark brown with mahogany edges.
-Carbonation is rather soft and the body quite full, making for a nourishing mouthfeel.
-The underlying fruitiness is also redolent of dried cherries.
-Malts in a Fujizakura beer are always beautifully expressed, it seems.

Mondial 2009. Dude pouring probably poured me 2/3 of the bottle for $4!! haha. Pours a slightly hazy woody brownish orange with a nice lasting big head. Aroma is nutty deep toasted malts, earth, light yeasty notes, ligth herbal hops, some paper and rope but good. Flavor is full big malts, munich, lots of toast, some earthy yeast, rope, light meatiness, and a warm bready biscuit-vienna malt character and a somewhat clean bittering finish. Aroma: malt, milk chocolate, cola, hint of molasses, coffee.
Flavor: malt, caramel, intense cola, milk chocolate, yeast. Finishes with coffee and cola.

Draft - Roast malts, prune and a bit of sourness. Jet brown with a rich but thin brown head. Almost flowery, dark malts, molasses and some dark fruit. A nice example of the style.

On tap at Craft Beer Bar...colour was pitch black with a creamy off white head. When I saw other people drinking this at the bar, I thought they were drinking stouts! Slight smell of caramel, burnt sugars, some floral hints. Taste was smooth and creamy and the finish was out of this world; certainly highlighting all the right aspects of a spring bock beer and adding their own little crafty touches (some vanilla in the finish). Bottle, Mondial 2009. Dark brown with a medium sized fizzy head. Aroma is lots and lots of dark fruits, blackberries, raisins and a small hint of hops. Taste is raisins and black fruits. Quite sweet. Draught at Craft Heads, Shibuya. Clear dark brown - white head. Roasted. Dry roasted. Bread notes. Ok bitterness. Chocolate. Nice malty. Light hoppy.
