UPDATED: SEP 25, 2008 Sparkling, clear, pilsener. Fragrant with hops and decent malt character as well. Some fruit, citrus. Good balance and tons of hops from nose to finish. Probably the best pilsener in Japan. Easy to drink and you never tire of it. jc1762 (1371) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 16, 2016
On tap into a plastic cup showinh clear filtered dark yellow with a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows light tropical hops and malts.
The palate is perfectly and smoothly carbonated and medium to full bodied. Begins with flavors of light apple to lightly sweet and grainy malts with the final pils bitterness to finish it off. TimE (5790) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAY 9, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2016 After 11 years, I decided to rerate this beer, as it has gone from a 2.1 flop to a masterpiece. Dry hoppy, grassy, lots of cereal notes, superbly well balanced. The receipe was tweaked sometime in 2015 (though it was markedly much better for the past few years) to become world class. Top notch stuff all the way. willisread (3293) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 9, 2015
On tap at Watering Hole. Crystal clear straw color with a medium-sized white head that lasts throughout. Aromas of grain, biscuit, peach and papaya all present. Taste is more of the same with the malts really standing out. The fruit flavors take a back seat to lightly peppered hops. Great take on a pilsener and so good served fresh on tap. Touch of haze. Bright pale malts, herbal hops, good bitterness. Nicely balanced pils. Quite good pils

My Bottom Line:Wombata (623) - Kobe, JAPAN - APR 14, 2013
Captivating grassy hops branch out into a long, spicy, herbal finish, whilst honeyed cereals and hay sculpt an impressively healthy mouthfeel. Another high quality lager from Fujizakura!
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam covers the clear pale golden.
-Some citrusy fruitiness roams within.
-The nose is hoppier and hoppier every time I smell it; it was served a little colder than it should have been...
-Balanced, flavorful, drinkable, well structured; what more do you want from a Pilsener?
On tap at the brewery restaurant.
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2013 Aroma: floral, corn, note of lemon, grainy malt
Flavor: floral, light lemon, grainy malt and slightly earthy hops followed by understated bitterness on the finish.
Comment: the initial flavors are preceded by lively carbonation after which the balanced bittering and grain malt take over. A gentle but not bland pils with some character. I had to raise the palate score to a 4 for it’s overall balance.
Later Tasting: 37-38
Aroma: earthy, grain, light lemon
Flavor: sweet pear, grainy malt initially and finishes with some burnt grain and a good, long bitter finish.

Tap at GJBF Osaka 2014. Fine grainy, grassy, and lightly stinky nose. Clear peach juice color. Big grass right away, Saaz-strong flavors in mid palate, along with some malt sweetness. Smooth and lightly lemony. Very crisp and clean. Solid pils.
