Dark brown color with a khaki head. Roasted malt, solvent, green apple, and a lot of coffee. Some mild sweetness of toast and toffee. The flavor has a harsh solvent note which ruins the nice roast, coffee, and chocolate characteristics. Mild bread and toast sweetness. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - JAN 14, 2009
On tap at he brew pub. Poured kind of a muddy brown color with little head. Aroma was a bit of malt and a bit of hops, but there was a touch of something metallic there too. Flavor was ok, pretty middle of the road. Easy drinker, but nothing special at all. redave (166) - squaw valley, California, USA - FEB 4, 2007
They tell me this is actually an ale...
Crazy marketing i guess.. They possible have fermented this at colder temperatures however.
Typical brown ale. Nothing special, other than this is a good locally brewery, and this beer is at least as good as Newcastle.
Somewhat nutty hints, creamy tan head.
Very drinkable, Come on down and try this or some other of their fine ales.
