In tap at brewery. Pours black with tan head. Roasted malt aroma with some smokey notes. Flavor is toasted malt with smoky notes and earthy hop finish. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2014
Draft at the brewpub. Pours black with a small brown head that has average retention. The aroma has a nice mix of roasted malt and dark and milk chocolate. The taste is big and roasty, dry coffee bean. Well done. woodychevy (874) - - NOV 4, 2013
would have been a better stout if the porter hadn’t been next to it in the flight. after sipping the porter this one was a bit anemic. bit of a lighter mouthfeel that I like in a stout- decent coffee, earthy, malty flavour. brewer may have been a bit stingy with the hops. just average jcweaver (768) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Tap. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Roasted aroma with hints of chocolate and earthiness. Nice roasted flavor with notes of chocolate, light caramel and a hint of woody smokiness. Nice earthy bitterness in the finish. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Serving: Draft at the brewpub. It pours a very dark brown color with a thin tan head. The nose has light roasted notes. Earthy roasted notes on the palate with a weak bitterness. Definitely a dry stout in nature. Light body and pretty drinkable.
