Reddish amber color out of the bottle with almost no head. Sweet nose with hints of spice. There is a lot of light brown sugar and cheap caramel sweetness in this with some cinnamon and a hint of artificial vanilla in the finish. The marketing is better than the beer. nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 7, 2015
The aroma is toasted malt and spices with with hints of chocolate and toffee. The appearance is amber brown with a tiny head. The taste is like the aroma with a mild hoppy bitter sweet ginger bread finish. The palate is thick. Overall a fun holiday beer. DialSquare (5123) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 19, 2014
12oz bottle from Savor Pint. Copper-orange pour with a thin khaki head. Aroma of brown sugar and cinnamon. Tastes are toasted malt, ginger, nutmeg, other xmas spices, vanilla. Palate is a little on the flat side. Yup, another christmas brew. dpjuart (1112) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2014
Pours murky brown with red hues and a rimming, off white head. Light spice nose. Watery and light mouthfeel. Caramel notes with just a touch of spice. The beer shines through, instead of being a spice rack. Honestly, not bad. dmac (6438) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - DEC 6, 2014
12oz bottle from Xroads. This is an uninspired thin body lightly yet badly spiced winter seasonal. Thin watery mouthfeel with light carbonation gives way to an aroma of sage and macewith a hint of chocolate and cinnamon. Flavor steps it up a bit with more of a nutmeg than cinnaomon and more of a brown bread than chocolate. Overall you can skip this one if you aren’t a hard core ticker.

Nice brown/winter ale, with hints of cinnamon on the nose. Pick up even more cinnamon on first taste, with the vanilla and other spices hitting on the back end, lingering on the palate for a few minutes. A nice winter/seasonal ale, nothing too special here. nittanyjim (118) - - NOV 28, 2014
Weak nose, some slices evident. Cloudy amber/brown, minimal lacing. Cinnamon and vanilla...some sweet malt aftertaste. Very thin, disappointingly so. conway (2210) - - NOV 26, 2014
Bottle. Roasty and sweet. Lots of brown sugar and spices. Medium mouthfeel and sticky. Ok. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber body with a small fizzy beige head that was fairly short lived. The nose is moderately spicy, mostly cinnamon and vanilla, with some toasty and sweet caramel maltiness below. The flavor is on the sweeter side as far as the malt goes. The spice mixture doesn’t really work for me all that well. I’m used to cinnamon, but it’s combo with vanilla and mace (whatever that is) just doesn’t work for me at all. The lingering finish of that weird mixture of spices far outlasts the malt. Medium bodied and a little clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. I don’t really know what to make of this one, I think they need to go back to the drawing board with the spice bill. superspak (5891) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - FEB 4, 2014
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 5/2014. Pours lightly cloudy ruby red color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, brown bread, light toffee, light chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, light vanilla, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and spice notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown bread, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, allspice, light chocolate, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown bread, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, allspice, light chocolate, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of dark/bready malt and spice flavors; with a great malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice spiced brown ale. All around good balance and robustness of dark/bready malt and spice flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
