Dark brown pour. Bordering on black. Small tan head. Not much lacing, but there is some. Smell is of malt and a wee bit of chocolate. Taste is the same with some vanilla mixed in. I don’t get much coffee at all. But it is still a good porter. MarkSachon (1037) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2013
12 oz bottle. Loved the label but the rest of the brew is rather weak. Could use a lot more of everything, especially coffee flavoring. The gravity is around what you’d find in a Budweiser. Very disappointing. DocJitsu (2013) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - JUL 30, 2013
Pours an opaque dark brown with a lighter mocha colored head. The head vanishes relatively quickly. There are a few glints of cola brown around the bottom edge when held to the light. The head never gets any larger than 3/4 of a finger. Aromas of sorghum in a glass jar and coffee are noted right away. Mildly creamy mouthfeel. Some fig and sorghum competing with smoke and coffee. Stewed vegetable medley at the finish. jsquire (4537) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JUL 21, 2013
Dark beer with a short lived tan head. The aroma is dominated by the coffee. This is definitely a coffee beer, with lots of sweetened coffee, chocolate, roasted grains, and some chocolate covered raisins in there somewhere. Caramel sweetness. Long coffee bean bitterness in the finish. Blatant coffee and pretty sweet, but all in all not a bad beer. conway (2210) - - JUL 5, 2013
Draft. Black with little head. Weak aroma of coffee grounds. Taste is surprisingly hoppy. Lots of citrus and coffee. Pretty tasty.

Opaque brown/black with a short-lived two finger tan head, curtain of lace. Taste and aroma both reek of coffee; taste begins with malt which gives way to a nicely semi-bittered coffee. All ends in a nice balance. Very drinkable, especially as an accompaniment to dessert. Recommended. mcnealc31 (255) - Elida, Ohio, USA - MAY 23, 2013
The aroma delivers on the promise of coffee, as does the flavor. Coffee dominates, but there is a caramel sweetness behind it. Very complex thanks to the blend of malts. Ends dry and bitter, but more of a coffee bitterness than one from hops. Light and smooth body, if a bit watery.
Very nice coffee porter. Drake (14038) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 22, 2013
12 ounce bottle from House of 1000 Beers, New Kensington. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of well balanced coffee and chocolate with some mild roast and earth. The taste is bitter roast, bitter coffee, bitter chocolate, a mild ashy note, herbal hops and a creamy finish. Medium bodied, decent balance. Quite nice. Daytonbeer (730) - Ohio, USA - APR 20, 2013
Pours near black with tan head and no lacing. Really nice aroma of espresso and chocolate. Followed by an average taste and thin watery consistency. Taste is malty and hoppy with coffee and toffee. Braudog (6791) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2013
Bottle. This black beer shows a bright red sheen when held to the light. The head quickly settles into a small tuft, nothing more. The aroma hints at sweet, milk chocolate. But the beer drinks with a bit more of a java base, with a sweet yet stark finish. (#4986, 4/15/2013)
