So here we are 25 years later. Very humbled, grateful, and amazed that we got here in one piece. Still a mix of beer geeks and boardheads. Still independent. Still trying to find that perfect balance between art and commerce, work and play, inspiration and perspiration. Thanks for supporting us for all these years, and next time you’re in Hood River, stop by for a beer.

Sampled on 3/13/14. This dopplebock pours a light to medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Large to medium sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malty, sweet and bready. A medium to light bodied dopplebock. The malts are bready, caramel and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice malty and bready dopplebock, dark fruit and some brown sugar. A touch boozy and perhaps a touch of oxidation. Very drinkable. Aroma is sweeter than the taste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

22 oz. bottle. Orange color with thin head without retention. Aroma is layers of dried fruits and caramel. Flavor has lots of dark fruit sweetness with dates, raisins and prune notes. Has a light herbal bitterness toward the bad end. Medium and full-bodied with no carbonation on the tongue. The palate displays sugar with a mildly syrupy texture. Decent.

Pours a finger of head on a clear medium straw colored body. The aroma has a rich caramel malt aroma mixed with lemon and pine. The taste starts with caramel sweetness, then some moderate pine and lemon bitterness comes through, finishes with the caramel sweet again. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. It’s a hoppier and less sweet doppelbock. I enjoyed it.

Pours a clear dark golden color, with a white head. Aroma of mixed hops and malt. Taste is slightly more hops, but the malt is there too. Fairly smooth and drinkable. The relatively high alcohol is not apparent. Thumbs up.

Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - OCT 15, 2013
Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Stars of with notes of crystallized sugar. Caramely, sugary, toffee, burnt sugar. There is a fruity cheese in the finish.

stevoj (5867) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 30, 2013
Pours amber with thin creamy head. Sharp malty aroma with some hops bitterness in the Taste. Big malt finish. Very well done, one of my favorite styles.

klaing (282) - Florida, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Surprised this is not rated higher. Rich full malty flavor, with an oak vanilla strain that holds in the aftertaste. Very dry & a touch light for the style. Lovely & unique. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Imaena (2359) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - SEP 27, 2013
Draught. This is an ok doppel bock that is easier drinking and less cloying than most. The depth of flavor suffers though.

Cavie (4874) - Arlington, Texas, USA - SEP 21, 2013
Tap at the Moth. Pours a slightly cloudy dark orange amber color. Tall white head. Aroma is dry, malty and woody. Flavor is malty, woody, Belgian fruit. Lightly dry finish. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy copper orange. Sweet toasty malt with a hint of toffee. Similar flavoe profile with the added citrus pith hops aftertaste. Overall, drinkable... Not too exciting but tasty nonetheless...
