Pours brownish-orange with a decent sized off white head.
Smells citrusy and slightly sweet.
Tastes- Hoppier than I was expecting. I saw doppelbock and my mind went to Korbinian but this beer is much more bitter. More hops and citrus than anything else. That being said, once I got over my expectations I enjoyed this beer. The bitterness is not over whelming by any means and the citrus notes are pleasant.
MF-Medium body and slightly carbonated.
Overall- Not what I think of when I think doppelbock but a pleasant beer nonetheless. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 7, 2013
22oz bottle, shared at b3shine’s with local raters. Purchased from Party Town. Mostly hazy darker orange amber color. Thin white head. Couple dots of lace. Medium body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. I really don’t like the aroma. It has that distinct old malty hop caramel soapy aroma that I don’t care for at all. Moderate bitter, light to moderate sweet taste. At first, the flavor is pretty offensive, but once I get over the initial shock it grows on me a little, not horrible to drink. Some nice, robust chocolatey maltiness. Not my style, though. JStax (7307) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 4, 2013
Bottle shared at b3shine’s. Pours a hazy copper with almost no head. Aroma is biscuit and saltines. Tastes dull and uninteresting. Past it’s prime I would say. Homer321 (5248) - Melboring, Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2013
Strong malty nose with sweet honey character. String malt flavors with a touch of peppery hop character and a little alcohol in the finish. On draft at brew pub

Pours a murky amber with a huge off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, hops, and roasted malt. Taste of the same with more caramel and slight alcohol. This medium to full bodied brew is well balanced and goes down smooth.

Bomber from Blue Dog Lansddale. Pours turbid and pretty thick deep brownish orangish colored with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, earthy, hops, and a big Wheaties corn flakey smell. Tastes rich, with predominant flavor of corn flakes, mild cacao, tropical fruit, earthy, and hops. vadie (1257) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 14, 2013
Couleur presque marron avec un col beige stable. L’arôme de malt grillée, un peu sucré. Un goût du malt grillée avec plein de caramel. bbcd (214) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUN 28, 2013
cloudy amber, off-white head with long retention and a little lacing. caramel, biscuit, citrus, spruce, resin, lots of alcohol. medium sweet, medium bitter. medium-full body, slick feel. not bad peteinSD (1468) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Bottle. Hazy copper color wth an orange hue and a scattering of off-white foam. Aroma is heavy and dense malt with toasted grain and darker raisin and barley style notes. Taste is dominated by sweet malt with light oxidization and heavier raisin, caramel, and darker fruit flavors. Some lingering hop bitterness but it’s almost hidden under all the heavy malt. Makes me think of an Englsh barley wine. Even, coating mouthfeel. Nice sipper. alobar (3966) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Cloudy copper pour with a creamy white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, and spice. Caramel, toffee, bread, and raisin flavor. Easy to drink for 9%. Nice beer.
