great example of a good full bodied ale, good amber appearance and aromas when poured. Nice on the palate with a mild hoppy taste JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 29, 2004
Boy, what a nice beer. Beautiful, mostly clear amber color. Sweet aroma with a hint of hop. The flavor profile is dominated by malt sweetness up front, balanced with fresh dose PNW hops, and leaves a lingering spiciness. I would love to have this beer on tap and drink it all night long. Many thanks to ecrvich. johnroblawson (40) - Ames, Iowa, USA - MAR 23, 2012
Perfectly balanced bitter and sweet caramel. Seems slightly fizzy for its style. Short-lasting head. CaliWill (19) - - FEB 10, 2013
Dark Amber and super yummy! This beer is mostly toasty munich slighty sweet mostly toasty malt flavor yum, with just enough hoppiness to balance it out. What a great beer!

Dark amber color, with very light head which dissapates quickly. You can really smell the hop, much more than in most ambers. The taste has some sweet carmel to begin, but balanced well with hops. Overall a very easy drinking beer. ChrisBeest (43) - Corvallis, Oregon, USA - FEB 18, 2002
I must say I like Amber’s, this tastes more like a Pale I found. brownalegirl (199) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - DEC 12, 2002
This was my favorite on our recent Western excursion - taste like the best hearty, rich grain and nut breads with a pleasant drying hops finish. Absolutely beautiful, too - a deep reddish orange that hints at the earthiness of the brew itself. Yumm!
