UPDATED: OCT 24, 2015 Draft at Bigwood, 12/6/2012. [10 of 11]. From notes.
Pours jet black, thin tan ring of head, leaves irregular lacing. Aroma/taste/overall impression is dominated by bourbon. Thereís a lot of barrel here. Sweet, roasty, smooth, full-bodied. When compared side-by-side in a line-up with other great barrel-aged beers, it doesnít leave a big impression (which is probably unfair -- I expect Iíll rate this again some time on its own terms).
2006 bottle. Big thanks to OldMrCrow for digging this one out of his cellar. Itís fitting that Iíd forgotten Iíd rated this one before based on my previous deScription. Anyway, pours near black with a small ring of bubbles. Aroma of dark fruit, oxidation / old beer. Held up surprisingly well, in that it still feels like it has some soul, even if accompanied by a bit of cardboard. Reasonably dry, still has some bourbon to it, chocolate, slick texture with a nice alcohol burn. Interestingly, my notes indicate I rated this 7.5/4/8/4/14, so basically the same as the original rating (which Iím going to let stand). Perhaps Iím fair and consistent, or I havenít grown at all in the last year, or perhaps itís just a coincidence.
2006 bottle, again thanks to crow. Maybe Iíve had a lot more bad old imperial stouts, or maybe this is a better bottle, but Iím really digging this. Prob 4.0. This has aged admirably.
22 oz. bottle from a trade. 2016 vintage. Black in color with full brown head with lace. Aroma is mild roast, moderate bourbon, and light coconut nuance. vandc01 (405) - North Branch, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Flavor is vanilla, coconut nuance, oak, and a bold lasting bourbon throughout the sip. Mild warming after the sip. Body leanís on the lighter side for the style but the flavor is nice. Barrel aged without any adjuncts... Soild
Poured from a 22oz bottle at home.
Great bourbon aroma and nice mouthfeel.
Nice beer! oobawa (1301) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 9, 2016
Hits you with an immediate chocolate front, then rolls into a chocolate-cherry middle. A bit thin, next the bourbon hits, and then thatís all you get. Wild Turkey. Wild Turkey everywhere. Burning, mediocre Wild Turkey. Not that this overreliance on bourbon is bad, just a bit one-note. Hides the stoutís weakness. Pretty good but overrated. 2012 vintage on draft at Falling Rock. GABF week 2016. Standard motor oil body. Excellent creamy beige head. Caramel, cocoa, sea salt and sweet tarts on the nose. Sweet chocolates, spicy black pepper, and floral coffees swirl together and clean up with a peppery and woody aftertaste, not unlike KBS. Very thin bodied, though, almost watery. That is fine because it is full of flavor and not filling. Excellent stuff if it reminds me of KBS. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Alabama, USA - APR 9, 2016
Poured from 750ml bottle.
Opaque, brown-black with a light brown head and good lacing.
Aroma of cocoa, vanilla, dark fruit, chocolate sauce, bourbon and oak.
Taste of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, dried black mission figs, oak, dark malt and butter.
Medium/full body and medium carbonation.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black like oil with khaki colored head. Bourbon, woody oak, some sweet vanilla and chocolate on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with bourbon and sweetness. Andrew196 (1858) - Katy, Texas, USA - DEC 4, 2015
Amazing. Jet black with mahogany edges, thin beige head. Aroma was cocoa, chocolate liqueur, bourbon. Super toasty and sweet, not as boozy as I expected and super balanced. Dry finish. Very well done guys. AndresTM (434) - Texas, USA - NOV 28, 2015
Nose is oak, dark fruits (raisins), vanilla, chocolate, mild coffee, and quite a bit of bourbon. Moderately sweet, bitter taste mostly mirrors the aroma in terms of flavors. Thereís a nice, woody tanginess to it. Loved it. tysongillmore (362) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2015
I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.

65 cl bottle (2014 vintage). Batch #034.
Pours pitch black color with a small beige head. Very nice vanilla aroma, wood, faint licorice, mild oat notes and dark chocolate. Flavor is creamy chocolate, bourbon-y vanilla, cocoa, faint coffee and dark malts. Thick oily palate, heavy and full-bodied. Very good.
