Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. A case study in low expectations. Having read some of my buds’ ratings, I was prepared to train-wreck. Not the most elegant vehicle, sure, but passable, at least more so than expected. Pour is fairly standard, cloudy gold with moderate carbonation. Nose a touch acrid and heavily citrusy. Mouthfeel a bit watery, not so puckering. Lemon drop and mildest funk to taste. Slightly dingy dishwater occasionally pokes its head out from the easy-drinking citrus, but thankfully not too prominently. mixmasterob (1058) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Bomber marked down cheap. Like three bucks. Clear golden pour with a big pillowy white head. Nice cap of foam. Aroma was lemony with notes of honey and earthy malt. Slightly sweet. Flavors were lightly tart, mild lemon peel, touch of dusty cardboard. Nice carbonation, lively mouthfeel with a light bittersweet finish. Why the low ratings? I thought this was very refreshing and nice. I really like this style. arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 22, 2012
22oz bottle $4.49. Bright yellow with a couple bubbles. Smell is a mix of cardboard and wheat. Flavor is the most subtle tarness, wheat, hint of lacto? Surely not. Extremely easy to drink but as far as the style this is disappointing overall. Oh well, at least it was cheap.

Sampled from the bottle at the Cajun Cafe Fall Fest. Pours a near clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a pretty strong acidic note with some sour fruit (medicinal) and an underlying earthy wheat. Flavor is slightly more balance bu still a bit of medicinal sour fruit with musty wheat. theisti (4156) - Kansas, USA - NOV 12, 2012
22 oz bomber courtesy of bvc. Enjoy by 9.17.12 printed on label. The pour is a light haze golden copper, with a one inch slightly dirty white head. That head falls slow and rocky. The aroma is wheat grain, grass, and lemon citrus. The taste is the grain of the wheat, slightly tart lemon, and finishes with grass and lemon fruit. The palate is light to medium bodied, with soft carbonation, and the mild tart finish. Touch of diacetyl dirtiness present in the long aftertaste. More or less a wheat bear with a touch of tartness. Thanks Brandon.

22 oz. bottle from the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy light, bright yellow-gold with a big white head. Light aroma. White and doughy bread, apple, funk, and straw. Flavor of lemon, wheat, apple, and light dough. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a soft, lightly tart mouthfeel. Liked each sip more than the last. Not bad. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 19, 2012
Bottle served in a tulip. Pours pale gold with a short white head. Decent retention that fades to a thin film. Aroma is pale apricot, sour dough, wheat skunk, and spit up. Slightly sour flavor. Light body, prickly carbonation, thin-creamy texture, and a dry, light tart finish. NachlamSie (3522) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 17, 2012
Bottle from Party Source. Pours a cloudy orange with little floaties. The aroma is grapey, very vinous with juicy fruits and tart lemon with a dash of vinegar. The flavor is equally vinous with a citrus tartness, reasonable funk and a finish like muscadines and wheat. Not too bad. Beaver (1821) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 16, 2012
22 oz bottle. Pours clear light gold with a medium fizzy white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass some.
The aroma is sweet honey malts with a little fruit and spice.
The flavor is sweet honey malts with a slight dry sour twang in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, it’s an OK berliner weisse - a little on the sweet side.
