To think that I used to deprecate wheat beers. Pleasant grassy and floral aroma, smelled. Wheaty flavour with bread and hoppy notes. Hoppy finish with a sweet bit.

I know their hearts were in the right place, but this is a disappointing miss. Medium-light body, light amber. It’s kinda sour-ish, sorta.

Growler from Bruekelen Bier Merchants. Brownish yellow clear bear with quickly diminishing head. Aroma of light citrus, hay and more fresh barley than anything. Flavor is predominately tart citrus with a slight cool candy citrus finish. Thin clean body. Great to drink all day while unpacking.

Pour on tap at Avery Sourfest 2012, clear yellow pour with fizzy white head, aroma brought notes of some slight corn, grain and biscuit, sweet honey and crackery malts as well, hints of slight lemon and lactic, touch of funk, some slight lemon notes come through as well. Taste is a mix of sour grain, hints of funk, slight corn and a vegetal note, not much going on here maybe slight biscuit malt as well. Pretty watery finish.

Bomber. Pours a cloudy orange color with a medium white head. An odd very rotten nose, lemons. The flavor is interesting: grainy, lots of lemon zest, some light earthiness. I imagine that people looking for a Berliner will be dissapointed, but it isn’t a poor offering.

22oz bottle thanks to Mike
Appearance: Slightly hazy straw golden with a medium sized white head and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and pale malts, taste of citrus some light tartness and fruit. OK, but not very good.

Light gold, hazy, thin white head. Grainy malt, lemon, mild tartness, a little earthy note. Enjoyable, fairly tame Berliner Weiss. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Subtle tartness, lemon, dusty, aroma of dough, slight green apple. Very mild Berliner Weisse.

Bottle:   Pale golden in color, slight haze, moderate white head, frothy, a few rings of lacing.   Sweaty and wet sock on the nose, a bit of pale fruit and bright wheat.   On the tongue its wheaty, slightly tart, a little bit dry, with a very soft bartlett pear like background.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not as dry, tart, and crisp as others in the style.   A bit more fruity than usual, well fruity in that pear aspect.   Not bad, enjoyable, but not what I was expecting.   Good start, but needs to be brighter, tart, and much more dry.

A hazed golden weisse with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a lightly fruity malt with light sulfury notes. In mouth, a lightly lemony berliner weisse with refreshing grains, light and smooth. On tap as Chris’s Summer Delight, Barcade, July 1, 2012.
