Looks great. Big foamy head like in the beer halls in Düsseldorf. Clear light brown color. Light toasted malt. A little to sweet and to bitter in the end compared to a tie alt but very good. Reminds me of Im Fuchsen in bitterness. Nice! Beese (2669) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 23, 2013
Draft at The Full Sail Pilsener Room in Portland, OR on 5 June 2013.
Pours a clear copper colour with a sightly off-white head. Malty, slightly nutty aroma. Caramel flavours and some dried fruit, sweetness is pronounced, but offset by a grassy bitterness. Dorwart (2583) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - AUG 14, 2013
Good sized light tan head of dense bubbles. Light chocolate malts, roasted grains, crusty biscuits and some smoke. Color is a dark mahagony brown. Hoppy flavor. Much more than expected. More roasted grains and toast. Flavor is a bit weak but is backed up by a decent herbal bitterness. Finishes sharp, dry and bitter with a lingering tingling sensation on the tongue. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 23, 2014
Nice amber color, nice medium foamy head.
Caramel nose and taste. Medium intense . Balanced a bit weak. Fatehunter (2561) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Poured a finger of head on a dark amber colored body. Looks great.
It smells old (it is an altbier after all). Seriously, it has a good barnyard/hay and earth smell to it.
It’s fairly complex for an alt with some mild maltiness to start, then some hop spice and finishes with a bit of burnt wood.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
I haven’t tasted many, but this is the best altbier I’ve had.

22 oz bomber from "Lifesource" Salem. $4.79
Nice deep amber/brown body with a slight haze, and a thick creamy quarter inch eggshell white head atop.
Malty,bready,nutty slightly toasted aromas.
All of the above inn the taste..plus a semi bitter after taste that works well.
Nice rounded mouthfeel .
Good drinkable beer. poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - MAY 31, 2012
Bomber bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Aroma consists of dough, caramel, spices (cinnamon?). Pours clear copper with a medium beige head that collapses after a couple minutes, leaving a blanket of foam; leaves cobwebby lacework. Taste starts out sweet and a little tart before becoming pretty bitter. Mouthfeel is creamy, body medium, carbonation soft. Pretty tasty--it exceeded my expectations. 650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a copper color with a medium off-white head that has fair retention and shows some minor lacing. The aroma is soft with sweet malts, pecans and a bit o’ brown sugar. The taste is similar to the nose with earthy bitter nuts, semi-sweet grains, mild spices and a brown sugar character(but without any real sweetness). The palate is on the lighter side, but seems appropriate for this beer and the carbonation is soft. The finish is medium in duration, very dry, and leaves an aftertaste of bitter walnuts. Overall: Very interesting, and very good, me like. OldMrCrow (2435) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Nutty with elements of rotting fruit. Fairly bitter close. Not bad at all. Atom (2418) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Bomber pours a bright reddish/copper with a large bubbly khaki head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and cereal grains. Taste of cereal grains of dry caramel with a bitter hop finish. Simple and enjoyable.
