Okay, I like this, but as a Pale Ale. As a Kolsch/Altbier I think it would be a dissappointment. Orange colored, translusent, aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor somewhat bitter and sweet. Finish malty sweet.

2003 - This was a very interesting take on the style, I actually found this to be quite enjoyable. Assertive fruit notes in the nose, with some yeasty qualities on the palate, that intermingle nicely with the rich caramel maltiness, leaving a lingering honey sweetness. Not as full-bodied as I would like, this still has a great texture and drinkability. Very interesting and very well balanced.

Zach Diesel (905) - Sisters, Oregon, USA - SEP 22, 2003
creamy malt aroma, orange/ruby with a loosely packed head, big and malty sweet with subtle spicy hop finish

Pours a light amber color with a small off-white head. A mild aroma that includes raisins, malt, licorice, and caramel. Medium bodied with a sort of silky texture. The flavors are a fine mix of licorice, raisons, malt, caramel, and a simple touch of hops in the finish. Pretty good.

2003 vintage:

Aroma: apple fields, oranges, alcohol, slight smells from salmon egg oil, a bit of black walnut scents

Appearance: reddish-brown with small white head

Flavor: sweet, carmel flavors with bitter-burnt flavors. very acidic grapefruit flavors. also strong coffee bitterness

Palate: bitter/acidic bite

3.9
Perkeo (322) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 18, 2003
The newest 22 0unce reserve beer from Full Sail, at least at the time of this review...Brown end of amber, slight foam, roasted notes in the nose with some piney, floral smell too, with a "hospital" undercurrent, though slight and not unpleasant. Fresh juicy flavor, with a great interplay of grilled malt and sweet hop on top of a medium body. More balanced than some alts, though definitely to style, pretty enjoyable.

3.7
HopasaurusRex (195) - Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA - JAN 29, 2004
Bomber from the brewery-while my palate isn't as familiar w/Alts, very nice Vienna malt flavor and enough bitterness to qualify for an Alt. One of the better beers I've had from Full Sail
