COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first beer in the Brewer’s Share Series is "Extra Special Barney" (ESB) and was developed by our lead brewer, Barney Brennan. According to Barney, his ESB was inspired by two things; a perfect beer moment and the aromatic highlight of the 2007 hop selection in Yakima, a US Challenger hop. As Barney puts it, "I was sitting on the deck at the brewery overlooking the river in the sunshine - drinking a perfectly balanced bitter - already looking forward to the second pint. It was one of those great beer moments. Hopefully, my ESB will make one of those moments for someone else with its five different specialty malts and this one very special hop. We made it entirely with US Challenger hops including a pound per barrel dry hop because we wanted to share the aromatic experience we had at the Hop Rub in Yakima with our customers."

poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Bomber, thanks brenn79. Pours hazy orange with a medium dissipating beige head. Aroma is fruity--apples definitely--cinnamon, wet river rock, caramel. Taste starts out sweet and finishes dry and bitter. Carbonation is average, body medium, carbonation a little creamy. Seems a little boring.

22 oz. bottle, shared with Poisoneddwarf- Pours hazy orange with a creamy two finger head that eventually reduces leaving a blanket and nice lace. Aroma is caramel malts, soapy, spice, fairly subdued. Taste is creamy, mellow, drinkable, caramel malts, but isn’t really blowing me away. Body is medium, creamy, carbonation is also medium. Overall good not great ESB, but not really my style either.

SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Bottle. Pours clear amber with beige head. Aroma is somewhat floral, fruit esters, hints of caramalized red apple. Flavor is much the same and very well balanced, subtle sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, solid brew but nothing I would buy again.

3.4
BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Light copper pour with a nice ivory head that left a bit of lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, floral hops, and toffee. Flavor similar with a subtle toast and maybe a hint of vanilla. Not a bad beer but not terribly complex.

3.8
Cybercat (5740) - Georgia, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Strong aroma is malty with fruity, earthy and woody notes. It pours a clear coppery with a pale yellow-tan head of about average thickness and persistence. Flavor has a woody core with a fairly, but not fiercely, bitter overtone and hints of caramel, grass and horehound. Smooth, firm texture is quite fizzy and lively. This "initial pub offering" is worth an investment!

2.8

22 oz bottle. Clear golden amber with a small, dense, off white head. Aroma toasty malt, herbal tea, lemon and very light caramel. Flavor is malty toast and dough with a smooth hop bitterness, alcohol is unnoticeable. Medium body with average carbonation and a slick mouth feel. Very nice, easy drinking ESB, nicely priced as well.
