UPDATED: SEP 22, 2009 Draft. A hazy amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The arma has spicy and sharp citrusy hop notes as well as light notes of malt. The flavor is sweet with sharp citrusy and spicy notes of hops, leading to a very bitter finish, balancing the sweetness delicately. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 16, 2009
Bottle... Poured amber with a white head, nice lacing. Strong hops on the nose with a pine and citrus sweetness as well. Crisp, foamy, well carbonated palate. Well balanced and a nice hop bitterness with a wood-like malt character. Really straight forward but well made. arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 14, 2009
Bright orange, decent head, good lacing on the glass. The smell is nondescript or my olfactory senses fail me, its like I can tell there are hops but no defining hop aroma, no pine, no citrus, no grass, nope. Still, not bad just something I’m not going to waste my time sniffing at. The taste is clean with a hint of citrus, floral qualities and plenty of bitterness in the finish. Not a bad beer at all, easy to drink but I prefer true West Coast IPA’s.

Bottle pours a deep slightly hazy redish amber. A full and dense light tan head, even after a sneaky pour. Classic hop aroma of pine and citrus. A little woody and papery. Flavor is plenty bitter with a big "in your face" IBU bite. Not as much hoppy flavor as I was hoping for. Maybe its the columbus variety with its very high AA. Very long quite strong bitter trailer.
Palate is a little thin but smooth, dry perhaps is the word. Modest carbonation Plenty of attenuation here.
..again that late IBU bite... jb43 (1650) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUL 9, 2009
(bottle from Argonaut Liquor in Denver, CO). Copper color with light cloudiness. Medium off white head. Hoppy aroma and flavor. Avg duration. Light bitterness, with very light metallic finish. Good lacing. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation.

2009 Bottle - Pours orange with a large orange head...aroma is orange lemon and grapefruit, with some light yeast and light malt, hop flowers...flavour is caustically bitter up front and a bit grassy in the middle...like citrus floor cleaner...finish is a lingering bitterness in the back of the throat...very dry and very little balance...I don’t mind the hops, but I need me some balance... Bomber poured a clear amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of grapefruit, orange, pine, floral notes and light biscuit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of grapefruit, biscuit, light orange zest and light earthiness with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish. stchloe (1067) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 4, 2009
Yummy yum. The nose is ten kinds of hops on top. And the body is just a malty bitter jumble of good. Nice pine and citrus throughout to create a good beer. A nice follow up to the Son of Spot. leems (406) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 3, 2009
Draft at Moon and Sixpence / Nice copper color, small off white head, tons of lacing. Aroma is bitter hops and pine. Flavor is an initial attack of bitter hops followed by some pine and citrus hops then caramel to almost balance. Quite hoppy (mostly bitter more than aroma or flavor). 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 2, 2009
Bottle. Copper body, tan head with a patchy sea-foam texture. Nose: dirty bread crumb from the Munich, the honey is noticeable but doesn’t add anything, and the hops come across as crusty/herbal/metallic. Chemical cleaner and burnt orange rind. Oily and filmy texture up front, grows coarse, dry and excessively bitter across the back. Cedar, toast, burnt oranges, messy and harsh. Stewed vegetable and solvent from the yeast show up late. Terrible IPA.
