Bottle Pours out a clear coper topped with a off white head. Aroma lots of hops citrus and floral. Tast lots of grapefruit peel and plenty of bitterness. A little thin but still a hoppy and bitter IPA. SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Draught at The Rose And Crown. I was pretty impressed with this one, and I’m not a big fan of Full Sail normally. Poured a copper color with a medium white head. The aroma was really hoppy with flowers, some grapefruit, pine, and light toasted malt as well. The flavor is super hoppy and bitter with lots of resiny pine and grapefruit over some lighter toasted grain. Medium bodied and just a little over-carbonated, though a few minutes of breathing left a pleasant texture. a hop bomb of an IPA. Nice, though just a little too heavy on bitterness versus aroma hopa. Bomber from Whole Foods in Sacramento, CA. Pours reddish copper with a decent off-white head. Very hoppy aroma - resin is noticeable. Some caramel. Medium plus body with near creamy carbonation. Very soft. As beer leaves the mouth grapefruit rind bitter comes out. Pretty bitter. Pretty good. Very well balanced in the mouth, followed by nice bitter. Interesting how this works with every mouthfull. Quite good ale. spikester (606) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JUN 11, 2009
Tonight’s quaff: Full Sail Brewing "Grandsun of Spot" IPA. A new beer from the dedicated folks in Hood River, Oregon. Amber body with a lively off-white head. Aroma is fruity. Taste is pink grapefruit, some resinous pine notes from the hops. Plenty of sweet malts to accompany the hop bitterness. Medium dry bitter finish. Nice IPA people. Note: Must love hops! This beer is part of the Brewmasters Reserve Series 2009. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 28, 2009
On draft at the Full Sail brewpub in Portland. Pours a cloudy copper with a mid-sized, off-white head. This one is a pine-resin hop bomb. My great friend Amy described it as drinking a christmas tree. Nice and full-bodied, thick and smooth with a vibrant enough carbonation to keep it clean and dry. Sharply bitter aftertaste, but a mild enough flavor that this is an extremely refreshing brew. I like it.
