A solid pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces an almost three finger thick, lightly amber tinged head. The beer is an amber color and shows an almost clear, amber tinged, rich copper hue when held up to the light. At first the beer smells balanced between crystal malt aromatics and American hops, but the hop character soon wins out with notes of Meyer lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, brown sugar crusted candied orange zest and a touch of an herbal edge. The malt still comes through with a touch of sweet-tea flavors and a biscuit like note in the finish.
The beer tastes quite a bit more herbal than the nose suggested. There is also a firm bitterness that gets a bit green with hops towards the finish. Somewhat dry tasting, but there is a crystal malt backed sweetness here that provides a touch of caramel character. There are some light citrus notes of grapefruit that are noticeable before the dominant herbal flavors and bitterness take hold.
This is definitely a fairly bitter beer, and I like that is remains fairly light and drinkable. A bit more floral and fruity hop notes would be nice, but this isn’t as fresh as it should be either. A good IPA, that I should work to get in a fresher state.
Light copper body with a white head. Caramel is the first thing that hits my nose, followed by grassy & minty hops. Quite malty, especially given my expectations about a west coast IPA. Some dank fruitiness. Flavor is caramel, big bitterness, toasted malt, a tiny bit roasty. Hops are primarily dank with a bit of grapefruit pith. Finish is overly bitter with more pith than dank and moderate caramels. AmEricanbrew (7011) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - FEB 18, 2010
Brilliant amber color/ lasting beige head. Nice pine, floral hop, caramel aromas. medium body. Hoppy bitter pine, grapefruit flavors on a lightly sweet caramel malty base. jgb9348 (6480) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 18, 2010
Nice light copper coloured body with orange highlights and a thinnish look, with a very thin tan head on top. Aroma of fresh hops, grapefruits, pine and a touch of malt. Light-bodied; Very mild flavour for the smell being so strong - hops come out first but a touch of malt and spice at the end lend nicely to the overall enjoyment. Aftertaste is mild, only a bit of hops left, and mostly malt and some light citrus. Overall, a good beer - perhaps more of an APA, but I’m not complaining, because I’d prefer this to any Imperial IPA any day of the week. I sampled this beer on draught at Falling Rock Tap House in Denver, Colorado on 14-February-2010. j12601 (13099) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - FEB 9, 2010
Bottle courtesy of sparky27. Pours an orange amber with a large white head and a touch of haze. Lots of paper, Styrofoam with a bit of earthy hops behind it. Medium bodied, earthy, papery. Acrid bitterness on the finish. Overall rather empty.

Pours orange with white head, aroma is full of hops and a bit of sweetness. Taste is citrusy hops up front with a rather odd sweet honey and caramel flavor. Good IPA! DuffMan (10665) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 27, 2010
Big bottle. Pours a dark orange with a thick off-white head that leaves generous lace. Huge aroma of fresh grapefruit and passionfruit. Big hoppy palate, flavours of grapefruit and resin balanced beautifully with toasty sweet malt. Very bitter finish, medium bodied. We shared a few IPAs tonight, and this one was the best. Bottle purchased in Utah. Poured a dark cloudy orangish amber with small bubbly head. Aroma was hoppy, planty, sweet. Taste was very interesting with a lingering bitterness and hints of citrus. Pallet was low-medium. Overall not that great. mspindler (489) - Alta Loma, California, USA - JAN 10, 2010
Pours cloudy orange with a short off white head. Aroma is citrusy and somewhat chalky, maybe vegetal. Perhaps infection? Flavor is very bitter and chalky dry. Strong and weird. Light to medium bodied, generous carbonation. KimJohansen (10497) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - DEC 13, 2009
Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Sweet aroma with hops, pine and malty notes. Flavour was quite hoppy with grapeffruits, pine and malty notes. Quite nice. Finished dry and bitter.
