Brilliant amber color/ lasting beige head. Nice pine, floral hop, caramel aromas. medium body. Hoppy bitter pine, grapefruit flavors on a lightly sweet caramel malty base. redeyeloon (21) - Colorado, USA - FEB 24, 2010
220z. --> tulip. big hop smells are evident through the huge head, and quite piney with citrus hints. pours clear bright amber. head is frothy off-white and clings well. taste is pine, citrus and very bitter. wow. palate is light oily with medium body. long bitter finish holds my attention. great bold IPA but not over the edge. i’d share this with a friend. 22 Ozer. Pours a deep amber with big solid head that hangs around. Aroma of resinous pine hops with maybe a hint of grapefruit and sweet honey and caramel malts. An interestingly balanced beer, bitterness comes on medium strong quickly crashing into a bittersweet melody that gives away to its powerful linging bitterness. Medium bodied and well carbonated with sticky oily texture that leaves strong bitterness clinging to the palate at finsh. Overall a very decent IPA leems (406) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 3, 2009
Draft at Moon and Sixpence / Nice copper color, small off white head, tons of lacing. Aroma is bitter hops and pine. Flavor is an initial attack of bitter hops followed by some pine and citrus hops then caramel to almost balance. Quite hoppy (mostly bitter more than aroma or flavor). IndianaRed (4617) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 12, 2009
Bottle pours a deep slightly hazy redish amber. A full and dense light tan head, even after a sneaky pour. Classic hop aroma of pine and citrus. A little woody and papery. Flavor is plenty bitter with a big "in your face" IBU bite. Not as much hoppy flavor as I was hoping for. Maybe its the columbus variety with its very high AA. Very long quite strong bitter trailer.
Palate is a little thin but smooth, dry perhaps is the word. Modest carbonation Plenty of attenuation here.
..again that late IBU bite...

On tap at the taproom at Harborside McCormimck and Schmick’s in Portland. 6/26/09. Pours solid copper with okay head. Great citrus aroma, which lead to a nice bitterness. A bit too lively on the tongue. apshah99 (147) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 8, 2009
Copper pour with tan head. Very hoppy floral aroma with lots of pine and malt. Tastes of slightly sweet malt and citrus with a dry bitter hoppy finish. Finish is maybe a little astringent. Not bad, but not great. highibus (821) - Vail, Arizona, USA - AUG 22, 2009
Pours a nice copper with white head, minimal lacing. No real aroma to speak of but I am getting some vanilla. But no hops. Weird. Flavor has some up front hop bitterness followed by a malty/astringent finish. Kind of lingers too, not in a good way. MIght be a bit off, but not great. Bomber. Poured medium golden with an off-white, near beige head. Sweet oranges and honey rose over caramel in the aroma.. more juicy fruit and fresh floral character as it warmed up.. inviting. The flavor had honey and juicy grapefruit sweetness at the core with huge, decently-balanced bitterness around (spicy pine, grapefruit, and toasted earth).. finished with a helluva lot of citrus bitterness. Did I mention this was bitter on the palate?.. if not, it was.. the malts did their best to keep it in check, and came close.. too assertive in the end to be refreshing. Still a decent brew. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - OCT 2, 2009
A decent run of the mill NW IPA. Sweet malts and light citrus notes on the nose, honey included. Similar on the taste, light grapefruit in the finish. Not too exciting, but definitely drinkable and refreshing in the summer!
