A very nice porter. Very nice color and flavor. A little bitterness on the head. JCW (1278) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 24, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2003 Really nice porter. Aroma of hops, and caramel malt. Flavor mostly roasted malts, slight sweet which is perfect with the mix. Nice porter! Cheers beerguy&baobubba. Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 26, 2003
The beer pours a deep brown, with the head portly in size, the texture spumous, and as it erodes leaves behind a glutinous sheet of lace to cover the glass. Lightly toasted grain, caramel sweet, and just the slightest hint of the hops make this a quite sniffable beer. Front is richly malt, light bitter chocolate sweet, the top middling in feel, with the finish stingingly acidic, the hops pleasing to the palate. Aftertaste quite dry, slightly bitter and a very satisfying beer to the palate, oh hell why not to the whole drinker, I’m feeling generous.

Poured a clear, dark brown with ruby edges and a thin tan head. Not much light gets through this. Roasty aroma with chocolate. Flavor dominated by chocolate, light caramel with some roastiness and coffee. Light hoppiness followed by acicidity. Moderate mouthfeel and carbonation. This poured a dark brown, with an almost stout-like appearance, topped by a tan head. The flavors were very in line with a stout also, roasty grains, and chocolate. I really liked this a lot.

I swear they are trying to bring back the imperial porter in this beer. A very strong and robust porter, with a huge taste. I could drink a lot of this and not get bored. Thanks Full Sail! Gromit (479) - Port Orchard, Washington, USA - JAN 24, 2004
Pours a very dark brown - almost black - with a decent head but virtually no lace.
Scent is of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, with a hint of butterscotch?
Taste is malty yet balanced. Perhaps a bit astringent. Roasted malt and cocoa are present as are a touch of hops.
Moutfeel is thicker than most Porters and has a nice mineral feel to it. Overall this is a very nice Porter.

black appearance with a pretty nice brownish head. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is pretty good and im not a fan of most porters. First taste was kinda too bitter but after that it kinda settled down. Another good beer from Full Sail. I'll add these to my collection. thehoff (598) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 18, 2004
This was a gift from my brother-in-law stationed in Seattle WA, Air Force.
Deep ruby black. No head but it would be a nice tan. Smells sweet like oatmeal, perhaps some raisin/prune, malt, chocolate. Bitter and very dry, some coffee flavor, nice and smooth. Nice microbrew, and a good porter. Tom Servo (424) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JUN 2, 2005
Wow. Very nice. Can’t believe this doesn’t rate higher. Extra dark brown coloring, with one of the darkest colored heads I’ve ever seen. Bitterness comes from the mocha/coffee flavors, and the aroma is the same, but not too much.
