COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Pursuit is the ultimate celebration of Oregon agriculture and Pacific Northwest Hops. Our brewers shoot a wonderfully hoppy surplus of Cascade, Mosaic, Equinox, and Simcoe into the fermenter using our Hop Shooter, dry hopping the beer and enhancing the aroma of pineapple and late hop flavors. Piney and mango notes follow with a mid-palate hint of honey. Two-Row Northwest Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts provide the right amount of malt character. Balanced by a clean, caramel malt body, Hop Pursuits multi-layered hop flavors lead to a crisp, assertive finish. Like the Pacific Northwest, this IPA has hops for days.

Clear amber color, good creamy off-white head, lace. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Pale malty, citrusy hoppy flavor. Quite short finish with hints of caramel. Decent APA.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head and lots of chunks. Aroma of bready malt, floral hops, bitter hops and hop oils. Flavor of crisp, caramel malt, bready malt, spicy hops, and sweet citrus and floral hops. Great hoppy pale ale, would drink this all the time if I could. 7/4/8/4/15 [3.8/5]

Always happy to see a new FS product, they never blow me away but you get a solid product and get what it offers .. . Pours a medium caramel gold, medium head, light lacing .. . smell is of biscuits, sap, and english hops .. . medium bitterness, simple and straight forward, a great little session beer and at 3 bucks a bomber, fantastic beer drink! .. . Its an extra pale, i guess, basically an english ipa or pale, but i just wanted a simple brew after a bottle of shared wine and this was good for right before dinner- good and especially good for the price.. . slow down joe jack- slower ... . just stop the truck...

What a mess this is. The description makes this sound amazing but dont be fooled, its bad. Aroma is alcohol, bubblegum, sweet malt, and metal. Taste is much of the same with a predominant flavor that can only be described as bitter spoiled dough. Both alcohol and bitterness shine through in this one.

Hazy amber with a small off-white head that fades, but leaves a decent ring of lace. Aroma of caramel, toffee, biscuits and oranges. It tastes like bitter water. Medium-thin, watery, finishing bitter and a little dry. The aroma is mild but ok, but the taste is extremely lacking.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2011 Typical pale ale with a crappy malt profile. There some shitty plisner tasting malts in there and bitterness without hop flavor. Whoops.

Bottle; golden orange with a skyscraper of a tight white-foamed head. Aroma is yeasty and citric. It drinks with a musty horse blanket essence, and with a dusting of herbal spice. Despite all that, the beer comes across as a bit shallow, light in body. The head wont quit though. (#4157, 7/1/2011)

Bottle from SL. The pour was light orangey amberish with a nice white head and a good bit of chunkies at the bottom third of the pour. The aroma was biscuits, toffee, citrus, and herbal hops. The flavor followed, oranges not that detectable by me, resinous and herbal hops the keynote. The mouthfeel was moderate for a pale ale, overall flavor moderate to a bit light, but it is an EPA, so I think they hit this dead on. Nice refreshing summer brew, actually.

Poured into a snifter. Thanks to twiggamortis420 for this. 3.5 A: Lightly hazed light orange color. Two and a half fingers of pillowy off-white head with pretty good retention and a good bit of lacing. 3.0 S: The nose is subtle, but it is pleasant enough. Herbal foremost with a good bit of orange and underneath some pithy grapefruit. Malts and yeast combine for a soft breadiness. 2.0 T: Amazingly boring. Im shocked that a 6% beer named Hop Pursuit could be so bland. The strongest flavor is yeast (I feel like Im drinking a yeast starter actually). Miles below that there is a very soft bitterness, unaggressive herbalness, and a "stale beer" taste. 3.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Could be creamier. 1.5 D: Im pissed that this came in a bomber. The second glass is ever worse that the first. Its like drinking a cuvee of wounded soldiers from the night before. I really wish I drainpoured beer because right now thats all I can think about. Dont buy this unless its for someone you dont like. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-13-2011 20:59:55
