COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Pursuit is the ultimate celebration of Oregon agriculture and Pacific Northwest Hops. Our brewers shoot a wonderfully hoppy surplus of Cascade, Mosaic, Equinox, and Simcoe into the fermenter using our Hop Shooter, dry hopping the beer and enhancing the aroma of pineapple and late hop flavors. Piney and mango notes follow with a mid-palate hint of honey. Two-Row Northwest Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts provide the right amount of malt character. Balanced by a clean, caramel malt body, Hop Pursuits multi-layered hop flavors lead to a crisp, assertive finish. Like the Pacific Northwest, this IPA has hops for days.

Ernest (7594) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 28, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2016 Bottle (2016 batch). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, grass), lightly yeasty (dough), with light notes of sulfur and egg. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Rather acidic and the nose has some off notes that bring down the one-dimensional hops. Not as terrible as that sounds, but not that good either.

Strykzone (7181) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2010
Sent from Hayduke and it was enjoyed via Facebook chat. A cloudy copper color with a very small soapy head that has a short life. The aroma seemed funky and a bit odd while cold. That definitely improved with warmer temperatures. Cascade hops are noted in both aroma and flavor. Citrus fruit, sourness that is unripe fruit. A hint of pepper spice. For the style this is down the middle. A rocky beginning but a solid finish. It is a nicely crafted beer.

CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - APR 19, 2010
Bottle: Pours a transparent orange amber with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale malts with some fresh floral grapefruity hops. Starts with good fullness for the style with pleasant light malty sweetness well balanced with assertive citrusy bittering and flavor hops before a crisp bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 23, 2011
Bottle:   Translucent Amber, a little fiery, moderate to large frothy white head, nice lacing, little to no carbonation.   Soft floral hop nose, a little bit of pine or spruce.   Light hop flavor up front, lingers for a bit but then dimishes.   This too is a fairly light Pale Ale.   Clean, flavorful up front but fades quickly.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Pretty good if you want a lighter example Pale Ale.   Great for summer sessions.   Otherwise, not a hefty/hoppy Pale Ale.
