Golden amber with a small white head. Bready malt with lots of hops, leaning towards an IPA. The flavor is much the same and is defintely very close to being an IPa rather than an APA. medium dry body. nice session beer. Suttree (6484) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 25, 2004
Golden Orange, thin white head. Floral, grapefruit, perfumy pine aroma. Pine and woodsy flavors, as well. Very woodsy, resiny hop flaovrs. Earthy hop flavors, as well. Some malt flavors, but mostly hops. Balance is over rated, anyway. Thanks, Secret Santa! argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 24, 2004
(RBSG04) Off-white head atop clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, pine. Medium body, some chewy. A bit big for an APA, not that I’m complaining. 3fourths (9357) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 23, 2004
Slightly murky yellow. Musty, leafy hop nose, sugars and a very sweet peach flavor initially, then the hop bitterness takes hold... peachy and leafy, stale paper flavor eventually, ending with a mild hopped buzz. lilannie (384) - Adamstown, Maryland, USA - JUL 19, 2004
Aroma: strong sweet hops, leaves, honey, and grains--smells very fresh

Appearance: golden yellow, bubbly, white head, lacing
Flavor: strong sweet hops, slight yeasty flavor, leaves, sour milk, and a mustiness
Palate: smooth but dry and bubbly, some watery-type qualities

Clear bronze color with faint, almost no head, plenty of carbonation though. The aroma is lightly spicy & citrusy, some light earthyness and a notable malt foundation. The flavor is very balanced & hoppy but not overly so. Finishes with a 2-rowish quality. Good APA, pretty solid.
Golden brown with a small white head. Grassy hop aroma with hints of lemon. Fresh hop leaf flavor with an earthy bitterness. Finish is a little rough on the palate. Pure hops, with little malt balance. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUN 23, 2004
Amber-orange; slightly hazy; decent head. Nice, cookie-dough malts, but they were subdued. Classic PNW hop flavors and aromas -- piney, flowery, grapefruity and citric. Lingering flower bitterness, but it never became distracting -- it was quite nice. Rather tasty beer, and very drinkable. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 9, 2004

Pilsner Room. Pretty hoppy. Sweet hops, fruity hops. Lychees everywhere, nice light pale malts, good balance, pretty tasty. Quite fruity.
2004 bottling. There isn’t too much to write home about here- this is very standard fare. Has a clear golden body, topped by a thin off-white head. Aroma of piney hops. Flavor is standard pine and citrus hops mingling with toasty, lightly caramely malt. Nothing unique. The body is oily and very thin. Why bother when there are so many other better examples of the style?
