COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Northwest style IPA is generously hopped to 60 IBU’s with Centennial hops from the Yakima Valley. Brewed in the classic style with two-row Pale and Crystal malt, our IPA is a real thirst quencher. It has a full, malty body and there’s even a hint of fresh citrus to it. Perfect after your favorite water sport. Even if that happens to be the grueling drag-the-poolside-lounge-chair-into-the-sun event. Classic IPA is available in 6-packs, 12-packs, and on draft. ABV 6% IBU 60

12oz bottle from kenb - thanks Ken! - Pours dark golden and somewhat cloudy with a fair foamy white head that didn’t stay too long. Aroma is floral hops, some grapefruit, and a bit of lemon over light grains. Flavor has all of those same citrus notes, grapefruit, lemon, and a fair amount of biscuit flavor as well. Finish is lightly bitter but less so than other PNW ipas that I have tried. All in all a pretty fair IPA

grimreeser (797) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 20, 2006
Pours light golden amber with medium head that dissipates quickly, nice lacing. Grassy grapefruit aroma, some pine and floral as well. Don’t notice any malt, only hops. Bitter, sour flavor. Too much grapefruit.

pnista (1007) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 12, 2006
Pours a light clear yellow-golden brown with a loose white head, quickly diminishing. The nose is lightly sweet with grapefruit seeds and a touch of lemon as well as some light spices. the palate is light with decent foaminess, though not particularly remarkable. The flavors are a bit weak. Light sweet malt with a citrus/floral hop character. There’s an unpleasant bitterness like tea that has been steeped too long (tannins?) and a grainy wheat-like taste. The finish isn’t very clean, with heavy grapefruit overtones.

Clear light yellow-orange color with a thin fluffy looking white head. This beer is hoppy, citrusy (mostly lemon) but also a little watery. It finishes with bitterness and lemon zest or orange peels that lingers for a while. I’m not a big fan, I think there is something slightly offensive in the aroma (sort of like a gingery sort of smell, but hard to place) , and not much going on overall.

Had this beer at the Orchard House on the King Estate Winery Estate. light orange, golden-colored brew that has a crisp hop finish . very nice hop. My favorite Full Sail Beer.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2006 Very flavorful IPA. Solid aftertaste: hoppy, bitter, but pleasant malty mouth feel. There is a citrusy aroma, but hard to taste with the IPA bite that takes hold. Great with pretzels. Recommended for the price. $5.99/six pack . I’ll buy again!

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2007 12 oz bottle. Average size head, Clear Gold color. Very nice hoppy lemon/fruity aroma. Refreshing balanced hoppy lemon & biscuity taste. A bit of a grapefruity, metallic aftertaste. Almost ruins it...Pretty decent beer but doubt i would buy more of these due to the astringant metalic bitter finish. Moderate carbonation, watery mouthfeel, light body.*********** 6/28/2007 rerate-approx 10 months later- orig rating was 8/4/6/2/12*********** 12 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours a semi-clear amber with an average sized head. Nose is unique..not sure what the smell is, but there are some earthy hops as well. Taste is caramel with some subtle fruitiness...pear i think, as well as grapefruit. Finish is fairly bitter. Body is a bit light. Carbonation is average.

From 12oz Bottle. Pours a light golden amber color with a thin layer of nice white head. A clean, grassy hops aroma with a hint of grilled sweet corn highlights the bouquet, along with a hint of almonds. Relatively light bodied with a clean, refreshing carbonated mouthfeel. Pleasant amount of bitterness that lasts throughout the palate, never getting exceptionally powerful. Some gentle, biscuity malt characters are allowed to show through, giving it a bit of bready sweetness. This creates a nice, pleasant balance that clearly fits its English IPA description. Clean, refreshing finish of dandelion flowers.
