COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter weather forecast for Hood River: unseasonably tropical. IPApaya, the latest in our Pub Series, blends locally grown hops with notes of papaya for a vacation in a bottle. IPApaya was born out of our interest in the tropical aromas of Northwest hops. Pale and wheat malts along with healthy additions of Equinox and Cascade hops provide the perfect golden base for the addition of papaya. The result is a refreshing IPA with the subtle essence of papaya. Tropical aromas of citrus, passion fruit, and papaya are well complemented by clean malt notes.

Golden orange white head. Citrus and tropical fruits. I’m not a big fan of papaya but the small hint of papaya is nice.

Restrained tropical aroma in a golden pour. Hop forward balance with a tropical fruit body and laid back finish. Better than I was expecting (at least).

355ml bottle. Minimally milky, orangey golden colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, snow-white head. Sweet-ish, tropical fruity and slightly citrusy, hoppy aroma, slightly artificial hints of papaya, apricot, some marmalade. Taste is slightly sweet-ish pale malty and bitter, tropical fruity and slightly citrusy hoppy, hints of passion fruit, papaya, some apricot, a touch of lemon and marmalade. Very clean, minimally artificial, a bit light.

12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with a medium rocky white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet candied tropical fruit with some perfume.

The flavor is sweet tropical fruit with a floral hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and is slightly watery.

Overall, an OK fruity IPA.

Had this at Jimmy Hula’s with some fish tacos. Light clearish orange appearance. Has some bold papaya flavor, but doesn’t seem juicy or artificial tasting. Decent malt/hops balance. This is one that I would like to try again or grab a 6-pack of.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a two finger white head. The aroma is pine, pineapple, and tropical fruits. The flavor is similar to the aroma with some bready malt flavor in there as well.

The first one I disliked, the second was much better. The papaya is evident and sometimes tasty but not always. An odd beer. Okay.
