COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter weather forecast for Hood River: unseasonably tropical. IPApaya, the latest in our Pub Series, blends locally grown hops with notes of papaya for a vacation in a bottle. IPApaya was born out of our interest in the tropical aromas of Northwest hops. Pale and wheat malts along with healthy additions of Equinox and Cascade hops provide the perfect golden base for the addition of papaya. The result is a refreshing IPA with the subtle essence of papaya. Tropical aromas of citrus, passion fruit, and papaya are well complemented by clean malt notes.

The first one I disliked, the second was much better. The papaya is evident and sometimes tasty but not always. An odd beer. Okay.

12oz bottle poured into a Shaker at 41. Color is a hazy golden yellow with light carbonation and a soft white head. Aroma is tropical fruits with a note of yeast. Medium body with a light crisp mouth feel. Flavor is tropical fruit lead by papaya up front, followed by a nice bitterness that takes it into a dry after taste with a touch of citrus on the end. Overall its a great brew with well-balanced flavors.

Bottle, maybe a little past its prime but still good hop flavor. Dark yellow color and the head is short lives and completely gone in a few minutes. Papaya immediately in the aroma. Some sweet malt, lots of citrus and juicy hops.

Pours hazy golden orange with a thin beige head, low retention. Aromas of grapefruit, papaya, caramel, biscuit. Medium light body, mild carbonation, lightly dry. Lightly sweet, tiny hint of citrus, lingering medium bitter finish. The flavors blend smoothly and work well together. I was a bit afraid to try this, but its actually a pretty good IPA.

Clear golden with a thin sticky white head. Big sticky tropical papaya aroma with a mellow piney hoppy bitterness. Crisp clean IPA flavor with pale golden malt and crisp leafy piney hoppy bitterness with a mellow and flavorful undercurrent throughout of papaya and gentle pine. Mellow and cool and bright and hoppy. Slightly floral piney and gently tropical citric. And then the papaya.
