22 oz bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours a dark crimson amber color with a moderate beige head that leaves a trace of lace as it settles. Aromo is predominantly toasty and caramel malts, with a rather generous side portion of floral and herbal hops. Flavor also skews to the malt side initially, again toasty with a bit of dark fruit, then a lightly citrus and floral hop bite comes on from the middle to the finish. Medium body and gently tickling carbonation. Very drinkable. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 4, 2007
Dark amber good head. Sweet malt aroma. Sharp hop bite at the finish. Slight floral and cotton candy sweetness in the taste. A bit too sweet for my liking. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2007
(Bottle) Pours a clear mahogany body with a medium beige head. Aroma of toasted oats, caramel, light citrus, and florals. Flavor of caramel malt and hops. jazz88 (2684) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 30, 2007
Bottle. A copper brown color with a foamy tan head. Caramel, lightly toasted, cookie, light fruits (grapefruit) and floral aroma. Quite nice, actually, for a style that rarely seems to produce a strong aroma. A mild fruit (tartness) flavor with a solid malty flavor, light hops, and a semi-sweet finish. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - MAY 25, 2007
This amber ale pours a deep copper color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty, hoppy and a touch bitter. A medium bodied Amber. Malts are caramel and toffee, not too sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. Probably more of an imperial red than an amber, the malts aren’t as sweet and the hops are fairly aggressive for an amber. It seems to fall more between an amber and an American Strong Ale. Kind of nice really. Good balance. Decent carbonation, Nice step up from an amber. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours a nice red with a modest hop aroma and flavor and reasonable share of caramel; while it is enjoyable enough, the overall impression is too close to a watered-down Lagunitas brew to be make much of an impression on me.
Aroma is mostly citrus and earth. Pours a dark amber/red that is somewhat hazy. Flavor is citrus hops out front, followed by some mild sweet earth and toffee/caramel. Medium bodied. Went down relatively. Somewhat resiny and dry. Middle of the road. Krausen (102) - USA - MAY 16, 2007
Clean, balanced with some caramel malt flavor but a pretty unremarkable beer! With the description I was expecting a hoppier brew. Odeed (1806) - Bakersfield, California, USA - MAY 14, 2007
deep crimson red with a little white head.i got some lacing around the glass from the head.i picked up toffee, malts, and a bit of pine hops in the aroma.flavor is ginger bread, cinnamon, caramel, biskets, and pine hops.kinda reminds me of anchors o.s.a. ontario102 (794) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 13, 2007
Doughy, grainy aroma with flowery and herbal hop notes; slightly vegetal; sweet, toasty caramel flavor, some pheonelics; nice balance, round, slightly slick palate. A nice amber.
