Pours a dark amber colour with a foamy white head. Aroma of sweet malts, orange and green apples. Flavour of sweet malts, green apples. harsh bitter hops, grains, grass and some citric tartness. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a grainy, harsh, malty, bitter finish. Unbalanced.
650ml bottle @ vPBFBoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 17, 2012
Pours dark orange with a tiny head.
Aroma of malts, hints of glue, fruity hops, hints of vanilla.
Taste is sweet and sugary with notes of malts, harshly dry and bitter hops, hints of vanilla. Finish is harshly bitter with notes of malts and hints of vanilla. Thin bodied, but bitter. Decent, a bit unbalanced barley wine.
65cl, Vintage 2012, American brew, thx to Secret Santa!, complex bitter brew, sweet/malty and slightly fruity, not too heavy, balanced, clear, small head, good brew reebtogi (6270) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 17, 2012
650ml bomber pours a light redish brown color with a small off-white head that leaves virtually no lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite hoppy for the style with citrus and herbs along with some dark fruits and caramel. Taste is herb and citrus hop bitterness with a dark fruit and caramel malty sweetness on the finish. Medium to heavy body with mild carbonation. A solid barleywine with a potent hop presence for the style. I rather enjoyed this one. bconch (422) - - JUL 31, 2012
Taken from old notes. Boozy nose with hints of caramel. Taste is sweet with a lot of hops for a barley wine. Finish is the same.

On tap at the brewery. Sweet and malty with a fruity hop finish. Probably better with some aging. Plovmand (8312) - Helsinge, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2012
Bomber at home. 2009 edition. Pours hazy amber with a creamy steady beige head. The aroma is heavy malty and bready. Notes of fruity hops and biscuits. Slick and oily body. The flavour has notes of dark fruit, fruity hops, marmelade, warming alcohol and lots of caramelish malt. Bit boozy finish. Fatehunter (2567) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JUN 21, 2012
Poured into a tulip glass. Copper color, transparent, light white head.
Concord grapes, light citrus.. lemon, and wet malt.
Lightly sweet, lots of bitterness from the hops coming on, and then ending with a sweet note. Fairly simple flavor notes, but done very well.
Light body, almost no carbonation. Easy to drink.
Very good. A great sipping beer for Christmas Eve in front of the fireplace. I have not had a barleywine in awhile, but this one makes me want to go try some more soon. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2012

Hazy deep amber - brown beer. Light malt nose. Semi soft palate, a little dry. Malty bitter toffee, followed by pretty bitter hop. A little aniseed alcohol underneath. Subtle black fruits in the finish which is soft and warming and with a trace of bubblegum. A few too many rough edges for me.
Pours an opaque amber with a medium tan head. Aroma has caramely malts and light earthy tea notes. Flavor is hoppy...earthy tea...caramely malt...light fruitiness. Mouthfeel is medium full with a bitter earthy/fruity finish.
