Shared bottle with Timfoolery. Smelled of hoppy goodness and even tasted pretty good at first, but the palate just fell apart. Left an odd bitter taste in my mouth. Decent brew for the genre, but not a standout.

On tap at the San Diego Brewing Company. Rich orange in color with a milky, off white head. Aroma of fruit, orange/citrus, caramel and earth. Flavor of toffee and caramel up front, with some grassy/earthy/citrus hopping in the finish. Decently bitter for the style. Lingering flavor. A solid, but probably average, version of the style.

bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 1, 2008
(22oz. bottle) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of citrus, biscuit, and peach. Flavor of caramel malt and hops (pine, floral, grassy) with a bitter finish.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of Josh. Poured a medium and clear amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of fruitness, floral, and some caramel. Tastes of the same fruitiness, caramel, floral, and some pine.

Thanks to Josh for sharing this one. Pours a lightly hazy amber with golden notes and a medium creamy/bubbly off white head. Aroma was floral, pine, mixed citrus, bready, caramel and a light nuttiness. Flavor was practically a match of the same.

egajdzis (6669) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 25, 2008
Poured a clear amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus, floral hops, caramel malts, and tropical fruits. Taste of citrus fruits, toffee malts, toast, light pine, and flowers, with a dry, lightly spicy, hop finish.

ilovedarkbeer (2744) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - SEP 24, 2008
Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours an orangey copper color with an off white head. Nose is earth, sand, and slightly catty hops. Taste is sunflower seeds, salt, metal, and finishes acidic, astringent and bitter. This does not seem to be very well balanced.

3.5
BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - SEP 24, 2008
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a hazed orange hue with a small off-white head. Aroma of flowery hops and honey. Taste is fruity hops with a light sweetness (but pretty watery overall). Waterlike mouthfeel with lively bubbles.

SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - SEP 23, 2008
Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a deep cloudy amber with white head. Aroma has nice hoppy, malty notes, with some citris, with a certain uniuqness quality I can not put my finger on....Flavor has a subtle sweetness with some malty notes with an obvious hoppy bitter. Mouthfeel is kinda watery with light-medium body. Overall, seemed like a kinda plain, good IPA......Nothing that stands out....

RedSox2004 (1928) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - SEP 21, 2008
Poured orange/amber with a thich two-finger head and great lacing. Strong aroma of citrus hops. Hops also dominated the taste, with a gentle caramel flavor underneath. A bit of a watery mouthfeel, but great carbonation and a crisp clean hops aftertaste. The epitome of a West Coast IPA.
