COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This tasty copper ale was originally called White Cap brewed in honor of our 15th Anniversary. Everyone liked the beer so much; we decided to release it year-round. To avoid any perceived consumer confusion, we changed the name to Rip Curl to celebrate the ripping winds and whitecaps of the Columbia River Gorge," It’s a thirst quenching easy drinking copper ale that has smooth wave of maltiness that crests to a clean fast finish. Brewed with a blend of specialty Caramel and Pale malt and balanced with East Kent Golding, Challenger & Fuggle hops. Rip Curl will also be available on draught in 1/2 & 1/4 bbls.

Had this beer on 10/8/2002. Aroma is a lightly sweet malt scent. Color is a rich brown with a hint of red to it. Carbonation is good with a nice head. Taste is malty with a mild bitterness. Starting with a light medium body with a smooth feel. Finish is a nice crisp malty taste backed by a mild bitterness. This is a very smooth and well balanced beer.

bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - MAR 18, 2007
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a thin white head. Fruit and nuts in the nose. Smooth med-light body with moderate carbonation. The taste is lightly toffee-sweet, with nuts and fruit, and maybe vanilla? Nice crisp finish. Nice balance - this would work just fine as a session beer for me.

detroiter (958) - Euphoria, Minnesota, USA - JAN 22, 2007
Pours a clear copper, topped by a couple inches of sudsy tan foam. Good head retention and head retention. MAlty and just a touchj fruity in the nose. Mild toasted malt, milder caramel, and just enough hops for balance. Almost medium body, carbonation on the light side.

Amber color. Dry caramel aroma. Very dry taste, caramel. Quite high bitterness. Totally uninteresting.

bhensonb (15193) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 31, 2006
Balanced aroma of malt and hop. Reddish amber color with a decent white head. Starts with malt, which is sort of washed aside by the carbonation, allowing enough hop to somewhat balance the malt. Very nice, seems a bit malty for the style.

2.9
hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 16, 2006
12oz bottle. Poured a medium orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of biscuit, caramel, and some citrus. Tastes of biscuit, citrus, and some toffee. Thinner body.
