3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours copper with a medium off white head and good retention. Aroma of Belgian yeast and malts with mild solvent notes. Bready fruits as it warmed. Flavor is much the same minus the solvent. Mild spiciness and Belgian funk. Little bit of tang on the back end. I always buy Full Sail products, and they are always respectable, but they always leave me wanting. Same here. Wish there was more to it.
22 oz. bottle dated 2011, "enjoy by" date was about three years ago. Pours ruby red amber with a nice off white head that retains and leaves lacing. Aroma is of sweet malt, earth, dark bread, cocoa, leather, and slight mineral/metal. Taste is dry and somewhat sour, seems to be lacking something. Has a chocolate and vanilla thing going on with the biscuit and tartness which is quite unique but not something I want to revisit very often. Kind of watery with a light/medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation, and dry finish. Has a light feel in the mouth for being 7% abv. Pretty mediocre for a Belgian Dubbel. 60minuteman (1765) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 7, 2014
A very nice ruby red pour with a tiny bit off a yellowish head. Rich malt, bread, chocolate, yeast, booze, dry fruit aroma. Mouthfeel is dry almost wine-like with a bit of heat. Spice. Taste is same as above minus the chocolate? Clean finish. Super smooth and forgiving. Not boozy. Very nice. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - JUL 6, 2013
December 2011. Bottle. Redbrown color with a tan head. Caramel, spice, dried fruit aromas. Flavors of caramel, yeast, malt and dark fruit. Not bad at all. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bottle. Thanks to adnielsen for sending. Pours a mahogany color with white head. Malty, toast, slight yeast aromas. Biscuit, malty, and a little caramel in the flavor with a touch of sourness at the end. A little off for a belgian dubbel. Not my favorite. beernovice39 (3269) - Idaho, USA - MAR 6, 2013
Bottle pours a clear amber with a tiny off white top. Scent is yeast, candy and spice. Taste candy with some roasted malts and yeast.

Deep amber with thin off-white crown. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with notes of caramel and bready malt. Taste of caramel, bready malt, yeast and dark fruit. A touch abrasive on the finish. gripweed57 (2970) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2012
22 ounce bottle. Dark reddish brown color. Small beige head. Mild fruity malt nose with a touch of yeasty, smoky character. Subtle dried fruit caramel malt flavor. Notes of vanilla and herbal hops. Finishes dry and uneventful. jtclockwork (17634) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 6, 2012
Bottle. Pours reddish brown with tab head. Nose and taste of fruit cake, dried grain, caramel toffee and Belgisn yeast. Medium body. robforbes (2279) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - NOV 3, 2012
pours a cloudy brown with a thin tan head, and some lacing.
smell is of molasses, a little sweetness, spice, malt, and caramel.
taste is a little sour, malt, a little fruit, and a little caramel. ends on the dry side and somewhat sour. arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2012
22oz bottle $4, affordable as always which is nice. Clear amber in color, looks like Fat Tire, what a blast from the past. Smells odd, malty, Belgian? Who knows? I don’t care but the taste was odd, malt biscuit, a tad bit of belgian yeast but I was hoping for something more here. What, hell if I know....
