How could we possibly make Session Black Lager, even more delicious and drinkable? Here’s a way: Session Black Cherry. It’s everything you’ve always loved about Session Black, now with a dash of cherry flavor. Still short, dark and drinkable. Still rocking those notes of roasty chocolate. But with a new cherry twist.
It pours deep garnet in color with a creamy tan head. Aromas of cocoa and cherry with a subtle floral essence. A smooth drinking dark lager with a full palate of bittersweet chocolate and sweet cherry taste. Black Cherry Black is rich in flavor yet finishes cleanly and is remarkably refreshing.

7/12/17. On tap at The Foundry, Rome. Almost black pour with a small khaki head. Weird aroma, fake black cherry, ashy, coffee, caramel maltiness. Same on the flavor - fake black cherry, ashy, day old coffee, malty. Eh.

325ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Chocolately, dark malty and fruity aroma, notes of morello, some nutty roastiness. Taste is dark malty and fruity, interchanging notes of morello and dark chocolate, morello finish. Very fruity, very nice.

Wasn’t expecting this beer to be as drinkable as it is. The black cherry remains appreciably subtle, popping up on the periphery but mostly serving as a background accent to the simple charms of Session Black. Modest roasty notes lead to a mild chocolate undertone, and the cherry meshes well with the lager esters. Finishes a tad sweet but remains quaffable thanks to a brisk schwarzbier fade laced with cherry. Not all that pretty of a pint, but the feel’s right, and the stubby bottles sure are barbecue-worthy.

Pours a thin head on a dark brown body.
Aroma is a candied cherry smell and a bit of roasted malt.
Taste is roasted malt, mild chocolate covered cherries and a sweet finish.
Texture feels sticky.
It’s a bit sweet for me.

11 oz stubby from "Mash-up" 12 pack from Winco in Commercial Street Salem OR.
Looks gorgeous..deep red /black with a gorgeous frothy and thick light tan head.
Aroma is pretty subdued..its malty, bready with a hint of cherry pit.

Taste is similar to the Session Black but with a good bit of cherry pit on the end,.
This is not a fruit beer were the fruit over bears..but it is well balanced and the fruit hold up the body
Actually very nice semi thick mouth feel..nice.
Really good..i liked this understated cherry ale.

pretty light for a black lager. medium brown with some red. aroma mild creamy cherries. tastes cherries, a bit caramel maybe a little oily tofu in there. A noble experiment. pretty good but not insane or anything.

Stubby bottle from douglas88. Thanks! Cherry nose with some dark fruit and light chocolate notes. Reddish/brown color. Flavors of cherry, with cherry cola sweetness, dark fruit, some dark roast. It all more or less blends in late mid palate. Mild bitter tracks. Thin-medium body. The cherry is a bit strong here. Interesting stuff.
