COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Session Fest is a Czech-style strong lager (gotta love the Czechs!) called polotmavé or literally "light dark or semi-dark." Brewed with 2 Row Pale malt, Munich malt, Caramel malt and Wheat malt, and hopped with a blend of Glaciers and Cascades, Session Fest has a medium-to-full body balancing candy caramel and full malt flavors that are underscored by a spicy hoppiness that provides a nice perfume with citrus and pine overtones and a long clean finish.

15th Jan 2018, dumpy 11 oz bottle into a Lowenbrau (Munchen) stemmed glass while on holiday in California. Amber body with a red hue, wispy off-white head. Caramel esters and flavours seem to be the most forward, light spicy notes within the taste. Nice.

Caramel and bready malt aroma with earthy floral hop. Pours a cloudy copper with small wispy white head Sweet bready malty flavor with slight fruity berry like hopiness. HighlanderOne (1396) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - DEC 23, 2017
On tap at NY Beer Company AROMA - just a bit of malt. APPEARANCE - dark red amber, no head. TASTE - caramel malt, touch of hops and spice, banana, bubblegum and citrus notes. PALATE - good- very slight bleachy notes OVERALL - I would buy again.

oobawa (1867) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 1, 2017
Not brilliant, but drinkable, reminiscent of a Scotch ale brewed with lager yeast. Caramel, toffee, and grain from the malts, while very sparse hopping adds a modicum of floral bitterness to the finish. Apple esters and a touch of pine show up in the fade. Flat, uninteresting aroma is mostly wet grain and some yeast. Pours an ugly orange-brown barely giving up a head and no lacing. Texture's medium-bodied and sparkly enough to keep from growing cloy. Unspectacular red lager. Eh.

Bottle from World Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is light bready malts and syrups. Taste is dry bread with some metal and minor rye spices. Light German bread kind of vibes, not a big fan.

Bulk_Carrier (6064) - Vermont, USA - FEB 13, 2017
Had this before, not sure what happened to my rating, let’s try this again hoping this won’t get erased. Poured into a pilsener glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt semi-dark orange color with a finger and a half of white foamy head. Left some nice sticky lace. The aroma had a slight breadiness/somewhat like toast with some grassy hops and a light allspice. Some floral hops bite in for a decent balance. And then some caramel/toffee malts. The flavor blended all of the previously mentioned flavors and then adds in a sly earthiness and subtle nuttiness. Smooth sweet bready and nutty aftertaste leading into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and the ABV feels good for how it comes across. Overall, hoping this doesn’t erase this time. Ratebeer is usually good about emailing me when a beer changes styles or a duplicate is found. Good thing I have backups elsewhere. Yes, I would have it again if I could find it.

From the stubby bottle into a tulip glass. Pours light brown with head and lace. Aroma of roasty malts, caramel, slight grains. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of caramel malts, minerals, slight floral hops. Overall fairly rich, flavorful, fairly easy drinking without being too light...tasty.

Bottle in Seattle. Darker, heavy red amber with a small fast dying foam. Sweet medium malty aroma, light rye bread chocolate body. Creamy, mild bitter chocolate base. Solid, tasty medium dark lager. Intriguing. Light fruity and spiced character.

MetalNHopHead (2277) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - DEC 3, 2016
Polotmavy isn’t the easiest style to track down. Maybe that’s why my first experience with one felt particularly rewarding. Though it was some time past its best by date, Full Sail’s brew still had quite a bit of hop character. To me, the aroma was like a hybrid of hoppy pils and a rich, malty red lager. Taste was kind of like that, too. Fat malts - nutty, fruity, and toffee-like. Finish was mildly bitter with earthy, piney hops. It speaks both to its European roots and its American botanicals.
