Every aspect of this IPA is amplified – from the upfront hop aroma and bitterness to the big malt body. Slipknot features a big Northwest hop aroma and robust bitterness balanced with a full malt body. Cascade, Crystal, Brewer’s Gold, and Cluster hops deliver pungent scents of citrus and pine. Extensive dry-hopping enhances this character with flavors to match. Northwest 2 Row Pale, Crystal and Rye malts add a rich spicy malt character. This full bodied IPA pours a rich golden-orange hue that glows like the late winter sun.

22-oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with an average, rocky, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, meal), heavy hops (candied fruit, flowers, pine, resin), average yeast (sweat, dough) with notes of peach, pear, and apricot. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

(Draught, Horse Brass Pub) Pours a copper body with a small off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, florals, and malt. Flavor of toasted malt and hops.

a solid drinkable beer, but doesn’t stand a chance against the big boys. doesn’t do anything wrong, just doesn’t do enough right. solid pine/citrus aroma and flavor, just not strong enough."

22oz bottle-pours a big foamy to rocky light tan head that laces and hazy/cloudy gold color. Aroma is caramel, medium malt, then resin hops with some citrus, alcohol. Taste is caramel, medium malt, then resin hops with some citrus, alcohol, and a fruity tartness. Medium body. An OK beer, disappointing for an I2PA. this rating is more than my usual on ‘style’ and less to ‘my taste’. Thanks Wasatch.

Bottled. Dark golden coloured. Uncelar. Fluffy beige head. Herbal and flowery aroma with distinct piney notes. Flavour is heavily hoppy. Herbs and fruits with light citrusy notes. Caramel notable. Medium to full bodied. Is quite balanced. Nice heavy bitterness in the end countered by a light sweetness. Thx. Papsoe for sharing.

hopscotch (11432) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Bottle… Clear amber ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. Earthy tomahawk (?) and simcoe hop nose with a whisper of caramalt. Full-bodied and silky with reserved carbonation. Moderate, fruity sweetness (fuzzy and tropical); medium to heavy, earthy, citrus bitterness. Lengthy, tannic, bitter finish. A shout goes out to mgumby10 for popping the top on this one!

marcus (10867) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 23, 2008
This orange ale poured with a modest off-white head and a sweet malty aroma. The flavor is caramel malt with a grassy bitter hop finish. The overall flavor is unusual, but not entirely pleasing.

onceblind (10864) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 4, 2016
Slightly hazy copper wth a lasting off white rocky cap. Big balanced aroma between sticky piney and floral and orange rind hops with a big pale malt and slight caramel maltiness. Big stern but balanced flavor that leans floral and citrusy but is malty and full and biscuity enough to back it up. A little standard but damn tasty, full and balanced.

DuffMan (10754) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 27, 2010
Bottle, shared wih Parksy. Pours a cloudy honey gold with a brief golden head. Aroma is reedy maltiness and resinous vegetal hops. Flavour is hoppy, but somewhat soapy rather than citric or resinous. Not as smooth as I’d like. The hop character just doesn’t satisfy as much as I’d hoped. Decent, but one was enough.
