October 2017 - Bottle share at CBC Islington. Big thanks to Leighton. As 'Full Sail Top Sail Imperial Porter Bourbon Barrel Aged'. Opaque black with a foamy brown head that leaves thick lacing. Aroma is woody, vanilla, meaty, a little plastic. Nice. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is woody, redcurrant and cranberry, tangy, sugary, little tart. Might have picked up an unwanted tartness somehow. But still decent enough when not rating to style. (8-4-6-3-14=3.5)

Bottle at CBC Islington - thanks to LKS. Cheers bro! It pours near black with a thick beige head. The aroma is rather soft, sweet, slick, oaky filth, vanilla, rocky road, jammy berry and earth. The taste is softer than expected, sweet, slick, oily , toasty brown sugars, cherry cola, vanilla, some alcohol warmth, tangy dried fruits and woody bourbon. Pretty good fun overall.

30Oct2017 Dark chocolate, bitter cacao, rotting cheese, sweet oak, bourbon. Hazy, very dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. Sweet citrus fruits, chocolate orange, sweet oak, light, zesty lemon, bourbon, soft carbonation, full bodied. Alright, not quite working for me, that cheese in the aroma and palate. Bottle shared at CBC Islington - thanks to Leighton!

Bottle shared in London / picked up in the US. Aged a few years. Pours deep brown with a foamy, tan head. The nose has old tobacco, strong roast, aged berries, leather, baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavour, somewhat boozy, with leathery berries, ashy roast. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, with more ash, aged berries, bittersweet cocoa. Good beer.

2010 batc. Small head, no lace. Strong whiskey, slight porter aroma. Flavor’s like nose. I can’t imagine how this was fresh. Not easy drinking at all.

2010 bomber. I think Stefan left it here. At home on a Sat while waiting for Taylor to get ready so we can go out to a concert in Dallas. Pours flat black. Around is weak toasted charred malt and dark grains. mouthfeel is silky coating the palate with a delicious dark bourbon coco. I like a lot, it has some complex tasty notes. slight oxidation on the back end, but very minimal. Delicious.

Bottle [no doubt from trade but I completely forgot from whom I got this, thanks though!] @ home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light brown colored head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, quite strongly bourbon, some vanilla, lightly roasted malts. Taste malts, lightly roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, oak/wood lightly, lightly metallic, moderately bitter initially, nice firm bitterness in the finish. Texture-wise a bit thinner than I had expected and hoped, body is decent, carbonation is average to medium. Hmm decent beer, but not as good as I had hoped it would be.
