A robust porter that has much roast, some burnt parts. OK drinkability. Not the best IP I have had. Dark brown colour. jcwattsrugger (12579) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - SEP 26, 2007
22oz bottle-pours a big foamy light brown head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-licorice, dark fruit. Taste is dark malt-licorice/molasses/chocolate, dark fruit/oaky, a bit of acidity with the second hop bite, oaky. Finish has coffee, which is not my taste, but very nice. Soft carbonation. madsberg (11818) - Søborg, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2004
Bottled: Pitch black coloured. Dense brown impressive head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, heavy roastyness and some malt. Flavour is sharp roasty, with liqourice and chocolate notes. Is somewhat warming. Ends on a bitter roasty note. Its because of beers like this, that I love this style. Thanks Bück Dich for sending this to me. hopscotch (11489) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2004
Co-rated by scraff... Very dark ale with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Great lacework. Chocolate and vanilla aroma. Very well-hopped... moderately bitter, lightly salty flavor with big notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, burnt finish. Damn nice beer! Thanks to scraff for sharing!
