Tastes of dough, fruity, yeast, and light spices. Tastes on the thinner side vs. the aromas. Alcohol content hidden.

hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2006
Draft... Pre-GABF ’06 at Falling Rock Tap House, Denver... Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The nose provides notes of banana, must and light, spicy phenols. Lightly sweet, sugar cookie flavor balanced well by aged hops. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Bitter-sweet, fruity finish.

Golden pour, small white head. Aroma is very malty, some old orange juice, coriander and yeast. Flavor continues with some overripe oranges, coriander, light caramel and some yeast. Ok.

Bottle @ home. I just found this still on the shelf in Denver. I remember liking it two years ago- lets see how the sucker held up in fluorescent light the last two years. Somewhat cloudy, golden orange appearance with an off white head. Soapy floral, a touch earthy (?), bready, herbal, slight citrusy aroma. Herbal, soapy, floral hoppy, light orange citrusy, bready yeasty flavor. I thought I enjoyed this two years ago but maybe I was just a shithead. This is ok.

bb (9525) - Alamo, California, USA - OCT 17, 2006
Draft. Amber beer with a thin off-white head. Low fruity, yeasty aroma. Lots of fruity apple and some citrus esters with some earthy yeast and sweet bubblegum flavors. medium bodied. Not bad, just doesn’t stand out.

JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 5, 2005
22 oz bomber. Thin white head over a bright golden beer. Sweet honeyish aroma, ripe banana, clove, pepper and some orange. Flavour is sweet, some clove and bubble gum esters. Peppery alcohol. Something here isn’t right, body is too sweet, fat greasy malts, slight sourness of rotten fruit. Light bitterness, but it doesn’t matter because it went down the drain anyway.

douglas88 (9427) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 11, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2008 Bomber from the state wine store. Pours a light gold with a small white head. The aroma is mostly banana and some citrus. The taste is mostly a sweet citrus and banana, yeast, and spices. Overall, quite drinkable but doesn’t stand out.

3fourths (9350) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2006
Almost clear yellow gold in color with a small white head. Initial aroma and flavor is a sweet, sticky saison-style beer, quite good upon first impression. A simple Belgian style beer, lightly sweet, light coriander and sticky honey flavors. Reminds me of a lot of Dutch styled ales, with the increased sweetness, though this one has more of a ESB-type bitterness which is a bit strange. Very drinkable, reminds me of Duvel, with more sweetness from the grains, and a little bit of a malt liquor flavor as well. Alcohol is not covered at all, though at 8.5% it’s not too much of a bother. Much better than the so-called Deschutes Saison.

after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - OCT 19, 2006
Bomber. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head that falls to film as quickly as it possibly can. Slight nutty aroma to go with a fair effort at a wild Belgian yeast nose. Some pears and nuts in the palate. Medium body, almost-fizzy carb. This is fairly drinkable and pleased many co-workers this afternoon at an impromptu tasting they asked me to arrange. I’ll buy it again someday. Hoping to see it on draft.
