Bottle: Clear golden, moderate white foamy head, spotty lacing, very light carbonation.   Yeasty/bready nose, very light or pale, soft citrus based spices, even softer pepper.   Lemony based flavor, yeasty, with an odd tapioca pudding like finish.   Never thought I would get that, but it appears to be there.   Touch of almond and vanilla in the finish.   This is a real odd duck.   Body and mouthfeel are fairly moderate.   ABV is well hidden.   Definitely doesn’t taste like 8.5%, but it sure feels like it.   Somewhat dry after the finish.   Not bad, but very different. kyzr (1591) - Montana, USA - OCT 28, 2005
Gold in color with little to no head on a bottle pour. Light aroma of apple & gapefruit. Flavors of apple and pear with yeasty bread. Nice texture to the mouth. Finish is clean and the alcohol just sneeks in. bb (9695) - Alamo, California, USA - OCT 17, 2006
Draft. Amber beer with a thin off-white head. Low fruity, yeasty aroma. Lots of fruity apple and some citrus esters with some earthy yeast and sweet bubblegum flavors. medium bodied. Not bad, just doesn’t stand out. 3fourths (9351) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2006
Almost clear yellow gold in color with a small white head. Initial aroma and flavor is a sweet, sticky saison-style beer, quite good upon first impression. A simple Belgian style beer, lightly sweet, light coriander and sticky honey flavors. Reminds me of a lot of Dutch styled ales, with the increased sweetness, though this one has more of a ESB-type bitterness which is a bit strange. Very drinkable, reminds me of Duvel, with more sweetness from the grains, and a little bit of a malt liquor flavor as well. Alcohol is not covered at all, though at 8.5% it’s not too much of a bother. Much better than the so-called Deschutes Saison. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - NOV 17, 2006
Enjoyed on tap at City Beer in SF and out of the bottle. Aroma was definitely sweet, with green apples playing a large part. There was also a sweetness that I did not associate with the fruitiness, but perhaps candi sugar. Appearance was a light orange, almost golden orange in color. Mouthfeel was a little syrupy but nothing horrible. Flavor is really sweet with sugar and apples, not much in terms of hop prescence and little else. Nothing horrible, but definite room for improvement.

22oz bottle via trade with indiana_red! - thanks Ken! - Pours golden cloud witha short offwhite head. Aromas of yeast, bannana, caramel, and a little raisin. Flavor is caramel, yeast, raisin, apples, and some lemon and orange. Palate is soft lightly carbonated and smooth in the mouth. Not bad.. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2007
Bomber. Mildly hazy, deep lemon hue with a modest white head that gives an oily impression. Floral and bubble gum esters in the nose, plus dough and citrus notes. The citrus and yeast theme carries through into the flavor, which is semi-dry with notable phenolics and moderate bitterness. Dry, somewhat watery texture. A decent, straight-forward, seemingly Duvel-inspired Belgian beer from Full Sail. This grew on me.

Bottle. Yeasty aroma with some malt nose. Tart flavour with a lot of maltiness. Not much staying power, the flavour disappears from the tongue quickly. A little bitterness on the finish, but not a full finish. Still a fair blonde badgerben (5255) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - SEP 21, 2007
Thanks to Akevitt! Gold color with no head. Big floral hop aroma. Yeasty and spicy taste with a bit hops on the finish. Slight alcohol burn.
