Vibrant aroma with malt, hops, spices and citrus all rolled into one. Nice bold character in the flavor, hoppy yet somewhat spicy. Its been better in years past, to me more of a winter warmer but still a winner.

Garnet hue with massive off-white head which settles down to a foamy ring, very good lace. The aroma hinted of toasted malts, mocha, vanilla, allspice, clove, fruitcake, piney hops, and earthy yeast esters. The flavors start sugary sweet with moderate spices, but really didn't overwhelm. The piney and citric hop nature kicked in to high gear midway through the tasting. The finish was a combination of old school ale (earthy, sublime and dry) and west coast new age (hoppy, brash, and creamy). Very nice mouthfeel in this underrated sesaonal brew which I have enjoyed every single time I have had the chance. Recommended.

Ruby colour, light foam head. Beautiful hop aroma. Hop flavour nicely built on a malt foundation. Light alcohol finish.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2013 Clear dark amber with a light tan head. Rich toffee’d plum juice, some burnt caramel and wet oak. Divine chewiness, robustness and a touch of roast, amazing all around, warming, relaxing, satisfying.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2008 2007: Hazy dark brown. Piney, spicy herbal, chocolatey...nice complex nose. Creamy body with a herbal/minty signature and a nice chocolate note. Malty, but sessionable.

2003: Dark burgundy colour with a rich, frothy, light brown head. Aroma and palate of chocolate, spruce, cinnamon, mint. Creamy body. Well-balanced. Like a spiced old ale. Thanks TTB! 7 4 7 4 14 = 3.6

Deep brown color with a medium tan head. Very malty aroma. Malt and toffee flavors, with a strong bitter, pepperey, spicey, piney hop aftertaste. Fairly dry finish. Very interesting.

dark brown color, small tan head that left a small amount of lace.Malty sweet aroma with a nice amount of hops and spice, and a nice grapefruit side to it as well.Nice malt taste upfront ,caramel and maybe even a little toffee,The fruit makes only a mild appearance and the hops manage to come through loud and clear.with a nice malty sweet hop party in the finish, with a nice mild spice note folowing the band all the way.Very very nice brew and luckily i have one more for the chat room for wed. Thanks go out to BrewBandit for sending me a pair of these great tasting brews.

Aromas of hops, malt, and alcohol. Dark brown with some red. no head. appears thin. Flavor of medium bodied hops with a sweet malt finish. Has a very "full sail" taste.

Pours a deep copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt with some hops. Great lacing. Flavor is quite hoppy with some nice woody notes. Not as much spiciness as i expected but more bitter. Nice bitter swallow. Body is pretty dry. This is not bad.

Dark brown with an orange hue and thick, cream-colored head. The head disappeared rather quickly. Some good lacing for the top half of the glass. Some malty sweetness in the aroma with a good bite from the hops. Great mouth feel through the whole beer. Sweet malt flavors that finish with a bitter hops tingle on the tongue. Good beer.
