Dark red brown pour with steady 1/2 finger head. Aroma of roasts, raisins, honey, pepper, tart. Tastes clover honey, soy sauce, raisins, rum, nutty. Dry finish with some bitter. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - OCT 2, 2013
A nice brown body with a thick bone color head? That had good retention and some lace. Aroma had a strong nutty profile upfront and some nice mildly roasted malts. Flavor had nice balance between roasted malts and a pecan like flavor. A mild sweetness and slight dry in the finish. Nice beer.

Draught. This is a fun and spicy brew that is as good in July as it is in December. ACHops (1606) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 24, 2013
12 oz bottle served in a pint glass. Pours dark reddish amber with thin lacy off white head. Aroma is roasty sweet caramel malt. Taste is clean sweet toasty malt with a mild amount of earthy hops on the back. Finishes bitter. Easily noticeable abv, just enough to balance all the malt, which dominates here. jkwood04 (5452) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 23, 2013
12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours dark brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of dark malts with caramel, chocolate, and light roasted notes plus some light spices and some floral hops. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Average texture. Not a bad beer.

Pretty nice holiday ale. Very dark pour. Molasses. Brown sugar, honey. Very chewy and thick.

Hmm, surprisingly uninteresting. The pour is a nice deep copper with a tan head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is where this beer begins to fall a little flat. It has some faint malt aroma but no spice and it certainly doesn’t scream a holiday brew. The taste is malt heavy with maybe a touch of hops in the finish. It’s simply just to bland for me - drinkable but less than spectacular! OKplus (787) - Oklahoma, USA - APR 30, 2013
A - Pours a very dark brown. A descent light tan head that
S - Dark chocolate, molasses, roasted dark malt, captain crunch cereal, brown sugar, raisins,
T - Roasted malts/dark cocoa come first. The dark cocoa seems to stick on the tongue all the way through. Then brown sugar, woody roasted grain, raisins, faint spice. A candy grape "Now & Later" flavor resides in the background. It sounds weird but it actually provides a subtle tartness. Citrus hops open up and add bitterness at the end.
M - Moderate carbonation. Syrupy yet creamy.
One of my favorite winter warmers. Not a ton of spice in this one which adds to the drinkability. The hops balance out the syrupy sweetness without overtaking it. Highly recommended!
