On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a clear brown with a touch of amber and a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has earthy grains and light spice with a hint of grassy hops. Flavor is similar with earthy dark grains and light spice but not much of a hop profile. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Sample from a bottle at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Last one of the night. Kind of rushed this one, a drunk friend had just spilled beer on my notebook and I was writing around the wet spots. Clear brown. Decent khaki head. Spice, toasted malts. Smooth, ligther carbonation. More dry texture. Moderate spice. Solid spice ale. Light bitter. Light sweet. magsinva (1413) - Virginia, USA - FEB 16, 2013
Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales - Entering old ratings from October and November 2012, reviews to come... Eventually. trujahwarrior (510) - Monroe, Washington, USA - FEB 13, 2013
Pours a reddish brown with a light off white head with light lacing. Smells of spices, dark fruit, pine and grapefruit. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with a good hop presence. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with great carbonation. Overall this is one of the better winter seasonal beers I’ve had this year. Reminds me of a red ale with extra spices.

Sampler at the Dutch last night. Light hazy brown in the glass. Thinner anemic head. Nose of flat weak malt. Body has an off tang of stale hop that lingers in an unpleasant manner. Glad I didn’t pay for this.

Clear deep cherry-mahogany with small head. Aroma of sherry, hazelnuts, and dark caramel. Taste of wood and smoke, firm bitterness, pine, earth, malt. Nice balance of body and carbonation, nice palate. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Pour out of 12 oz bottle dark blackish red pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, roast malts, some slight biscuit, bread, dark fruits, caramelized sugars, nice spice with clove, slight cinnamon as well, slight earthy and spicy hops as well. Taste is spicy up front with cinnamon, clove, some cherry juice and dark raisin go into dark toffee, caramelizes sugars, dark fruits with a hint of earth, finishing fairly bitter and dry. Pretty nice, like the way this was crafted. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with almost no head on it. Nose is a little malty, but not all that strong. Taste is quite malty with some slight caramel and toasty notes. Finish is slightly bitter. Not bad. Headbanger (4009) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JAN 17, 2013
12oz bottle 1/17/13 (Crown Liquor-COS)-40° in English Pint-Pours a dark ruby red with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and toffee. Taste of the same with more sweetness and hops. This medium to full bodied brew is a nice tasty brew. mensch (289) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - JAN 14, 2013
Dark reddish-brown with a tightly knit tan head. Understated aromas, brown sugar and nutmeg. This beer is smooth and malty with holiday spice flavors and a little hop note in the finish. Complex and tasty, but lacking a bit in aroma and, for a Stong Ale, strength.
