Bottle. Dark brown color, light brown head with nice doily lacing. Aroma of chocolate, spice, grass, light tangerine. Juicy citrus hop up front that quickly goes to milky malt, pretty thick mouthfeel with a tangy long finish. Was not initially impressed but it improves with some thought and attention. gbzia (195) - Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, USA - AUG 30, 2002
At the brewery... An easy drinking winter beer, with good spices, some hops and a lite body, but a nice head. beerhandy (195) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - MAR 7, 2005
Oklahomas best full sail offering.Sure its seasonal so buy it every winter! Amber Ale nice off white foamy head, the aroma is malty with some roast, hops
are present but subdued.Sweet brown malt taste with PNW hops in the middle.
A great ale! Fujimo2000 (194) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - JAN 9, 2016
Pours dark copper with off white lacing. Aroma and taste is caramel, winter spices but the finish is spruce. Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 11, 2011
Clean, ruby color; good clarity with taupe head. Carmel and dark sugar rise from the glass. Slick mouthfeel with medium body. Plum, blackberries and carmel flavors blend nicely. Finish is smooth but not crisp (in a good way). A great winter warmer to be enjoyed by a fire.

Extemely malty. What stone Ruination is for hops this is for malt. I was hoping for a spiced seasonal with the name. Not my cup of tea but points for having the balls to be assertive. Chickencoop (188) - California, USA - APR 14, 2010
Picked this up in a sixer for like $4, liqour store was blowing out the winters, there loss, my gain. This is a very well balanced winter brew, unlike most winter beers that go over the top on direction or the other. Big hops, but rounded out with sweet malts on the finish to the end. Very good beer, and aged well as well. Good score on my part. xsketchyx (184) - Oregon, USA - OCT 18, 2003

Lovely brown nice tan head again
Again the light chocolate, dry fruits and some floral notes with some alcohol notes as well
Lots of malt complexity, with some chocolate, toast, touch of dark fruit followed by a nice spicy hop bite... this year the hop bite is more controlled but lasts long into the finish.
Again a fabulous beer... I always look forward to every winter.
The treat is to see what time does to this one definitely get a couple of six packs :)

shiny deep amber with a nice tan head which settles to a nice film on top
Some chocolate, dried fruits and a floral hop nose with some alcohol as the beer warms
Malty with just a touch of chocolatey flavors before a sizeable spicy noble hop takes over into the finish.
Medium light bodied on the tongue with a long dry finish with some creaminess
Overall a very good winterbrew I would have preferred a little more malt complexity... I prefer my winter beers malty. Nonetheless a very well made beer.
