12 oz bottle Nose is caramel , cereal, and sllight coffee. Nice appearence, dark brownish amber with a creamy head. It has a medium sweetness along with a medium bitterness. I has meduim body, creamy texture, and a bitter finish. Nice lacing that has staying power. It’s sweet, bitter, and spicy all at the same time. A good balance. Darkover (1542) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 15, 2007
Dark clear brown with a small tan head. Aroma of bready/rye malts and some hops. Flavor of rye malts, hops and spices. Treephiend (58) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 23, 2007
pours dark red with a small light brown head. The aroma is spicy and citrusy. The flavor is paced with roasted malt and hops. It balances very well. Solid brew. cblado (298) - Washington, USA - JAN 15, 2008
On tap at Ohana’s in Seattle, Washington. Dark amber in color. I was immediately surprised by the effervescent head, very unusual. Aroma was dominated by a robust malt, which gave way to a similarly robust molasses flavor, with an almost earthy nutty flavor to it. I’d definitely go back to this one again. dtborelli (322) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 23, 2009

Full Sail Wassail
12 oz bottle
Poors a dark brown, like strong iced tea with little to no head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Smells herby—of a lavender bush. Minor carbonation bubbles. Pleasing bitter aftertaste of coffee and bitter hops that creeps from the back of the tongue to the front, ending in a sour note. Taste of molasses, and brown sugar without the sugar. This beer is in the semi-regular rotation. We like it.

Picked this up in a sixer for like $4, liqour store was blowing out the winters, there loss, my gain. This is a very well balanced winter brew, unlike most winter beers that go over the top on direction or the other. Big hops, but rounded out with sweet malts on the finish to the end. Very good beer, and aged well as well. Good score on my part. ben4321 (6673) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 11, 2010

Aroma: The nose has caramel, nuts, dark roasted malts, fruits, spice, and a little earthy hops
Appearance: It pours a dark mahogany color with a small beige head and some light lace
Flavor: Smooth and malty, some sweetness, roasty, touch of spice, earthy hops for balance
Palate: Quite smooth and drinkable with a warming (but boozy) mouthfeel, and a medium-full body
This was a pretty impressive winter seasonal beer. You really can’t help but like it, it just feels like it was made for this season. It’s certainly more on the sweet side then the bitter, but it has a touch of bitterness for that much needed balance. Overall, this is a very solid beer indeed.
Bottle. Pours a medium/dark brown with medium tan head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is of roasted malts. Flavor is nutty, roasty, with a bit of caramel sweetness up front, and bitterness in the finish. Pretty good for a cold winter night. Pershing (573) - Garland, Texas, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Pours dark mahogany with a small tan head that fades quickly. Excellent malt aroma with a nice sharp taste on the first sip. Just enough hops to balance the malt without over doing it. Long spicy finish.
