Aromas of hops, malt, and alcohol. Dark brown with some red. no head. appears thin. Flavor of medium bodied hops with a sweet malt finish. Has a very "full sail" taste.

Deep amber color with low to medium carbonation and head dying fast. Little aroma. Pretty rich caramel malt flavor and well balanced with hops. OK Beer.

Pours a reddish brown, dark, rich brown head. Nice. Aroma of spiced, chocolate truffles and booze. Thick, though not syrupy body is pleasant enough to have another. A decent winter beer that warms the spirits, but there are better winter choices. Would have appreciated more bitterness, but malt seems nicely balanced.

Dark brown color. Some aroma of caramel. Strong caramel flavor, but smooth enough; caramel finish, sharp. Monodimensional but drinkable.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2007 A nice winter brew...but not as robust as St. Nick. Some wonderful orange zest, white pepper notes...though a bit of a winey finish....just a bit. Also some nice semi-sweet caramel midnotes. Quaffable. Definitely quaffable.

Malt and spiced aroma form a deep brown body with a brown head. The palate is medium. The taste is a nice mix of caramel malt, roasted malt and some spices. Thankfully the spices don’t overwhelm the rest of the beer.
