The fourth incarnation of Brewer’s Reserve spent a year in the Fuller’s cellar in rare Comte de Lauvia Armagnac casks from the Bas region of France. The beer is infused with brandy characteristics, with distinctive notes of vanilla, green apple and cinnamon, a solid malt base and velvety alcohol warmth.

Spab (4124) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 9, 2015
500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear copper colour with moderate-sized cream-coloured head. Aroma is quite woody with caramel, cherries, baked apples and earthiness. Flavour is full of oakiness, fair amount of dark fruit, including cherry, stewed green apple, hints of caramel and vanilla, as well as a little earthiness. Interesting.

Deep honey, chocolate aroma. Pours dark amber with a foamy, bubbling which has the hint of sweetness from the armagnac oak casks . Has a heady oaked flavour, malty, caramel, and that armagnac returns at the end. Triumphant!

500ml bottle, #09162.
Pours a brilliant deep gold, with an off-white head.
Spicy, complex, malty aroma, wood, vanilla, citrus, caramel, floral notes, brandy, lightly toasted notes.
Off-dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2.
Spicy, complex, woody taste, vanilla, brandy, caramel, orange peel, yeast, hops.
Very well balanced, subtle rather than powerful. Elegant. Well done again, Mr Keeling. (2014-12-23

Bottle from Fuller’s website. This copper coloured beer pours with a large foamy head. It has deep, rich red fruit and currant flavours, vanilla notes and Armagnac on the fruity finish.

Pours clear orange with a moderate fizzy white top. Aroma is sweetness from the oak barrels and small bittering hops. Taste is carbonated, not the normal smooth velvet mouthfeel I have come to expect from Fullers. Nice sweetness and dry mouthfeel from the barrels and earthy cereal malts.

rejtable (2847) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2014
This was nice. Pours clear orange, lots of head and lots of lacing. Nose is sweet liquor, probably Armagnac. Flavours are sweet caramel, some Armagnac,. Taste medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation. Nice!!

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 500ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip glass.
Bottle nr. 36756.
A: Pours a dark amber color. Quite nutty but absolutely clear. Forms a medium bubbled yellow head forming small spotty lacings in the glass. Medium to low retention but with a quite persistent thin layer that remains on the top for long time
S: Great sweet toffee and caramel malts with strong notes of wood and cognac. Booze but balanced. Fruity as it should with strong notes of dark and mainly dry fruits: cherry, raisins and plums
T: Sweet front. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, roasted malts. Ooooaaak! Oh boy... Strong notes of dark fruits and dark dry fruits like plums, raisins, cherry, grapes and cherrywood. Notes of cognac and alcohol
M: Heavy molasses body. Medium carbonation. Sweet malty aftertaste with strong alcohol notes. Warming beer
O: Great drinkability. Extremely well done ale. Just another Fuller’s masterpiece
