Bottle & keg (USA); Pasteurised.
First brewed in 1971. Ingredients: Pale Ale malt, Crystal malt and Maize; Target, Challenger, Northdown and Goldings hops.
Brewed at 5.5% ABV in cask and 5.9% ABV in bottle, ESB is a true liquid legend, and should be savoured as such.
ESB has a wonderful rich mahogany appearance. Taking in the nose, the beer is bursting with cherry and orange, balanced by soft malty toffee and caramel notes. The flavour delivers everything you would expect from such a full-bodied ale. The unique blend of Northdown, Target, Challenger and Goldings hops imparts grassy, peppery notes on the tongue along with intense citrus fruit characters of grapefruits, oranges and lemons. The blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts in the brew give a biscuity, toffee element to the beer. A smooth, mellow bitterness lingers on the palate to give a superbly satisfying finish.

Flaska på La Pampa. Bärnstensfärgad med luftigt smutsvitt skum. Doft av kåda och barr. Söt med smak av barr.

Pours clear amber/copper with low white head. Very interesting, rather complex composition of flavors: a gentle bitterness, some malt, some booze and a curious but somehow fitting taste of bread or cookies. Good one!

9. 12. 2017, Ljubljana. Bottled. Served a bit underchilled. Aroma held back, hints of corn. Colour is dark orange/amber with off-white head with some retention. Taste is somewhat malty sweet in the beginning, not intense, swallowing creeps in fine bittering which lingers and rings out slowly in the aftertaste. Nice. Med bodied, even thin a bit, easy dryish finish. Good under proper circumstances, but just not my favourite style.

Amber beer with lots of malt sweetness and some dry hoppiness in the finish. Dont really get its rating a fairly standard strong amber ale.

Zilverenmaan (336) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - DEC 3, 2017
Aroma and taste mostly sweetish malts at first, some caramel, some apple, subtle fruity hops, somewhat grainy MF, light bitter finish. Starts of a bit too sweet for my taste but surprisingly complex.

Wonderful golden color, crisp with low head. Aroma earthy and wood with distinct hop character. Palate medium with low carbonation. Easily drinkable and balanced with toasty character with hop aftertaste. Great sipper
