Bottle. Dark brown with a dark beige head. Very malty aroma with dark chocolate notes. A little caramel sweetness in the taste, followed by roasted coffee and medium bitterness at the end.

50 cL can. Pours dark brown with and orange glare an a creamy and light brown/tan head. Roasted malt, light chocolate note and mild earthy note in the aroma. Amost creay mouthfeel. Flavour is roasted malt, light chocolate and a very mild smoke note. Dry roasted malt finish with a light bitterness.

A dark red almost black beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is fruity an slightly smokey. And the flavor is smokey but very mellow - nice but very mainstream for a porter.

joergen (30211) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 8, 2005

Warning! Early amateur rating! Rich dark porter. Bitter at first but becomes savoury. Very drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of steptin, thanks! Deep, clear chestnut maroon, huge beig head with good retention. Aroma of chocolate covered raisins, like you used to get at the movies. Taste is dark cocoa, burnt espresso, prunes. Very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2012 Bottle at home... Nice Deep red ... big foam head ... Deep roast malt nose ... Nice good roast base ... some chocolate ... quite dry and and bitter ...Decent enough ... but not as nice as the cask... It puzzles me that the bottle scores higher than the cask.

Bottle at home...May 2012 online tasting .. deep brown ... thin tan head ... soft coffee malt ...ovaltine malts ... rich dark fruit plums and mellow coffee nose ... light body ... soft mellow roast malts ...soft toffee ... again more coffee hints than expected ... rich soft and tasty ...

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 16, 2006
Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, mediumsized brown head. Soapy, roasted caramellish malts in aroma, with dark chocolate and toffee in it also. Flavour is roasted malts, dark chocolate, while the aftertaste is like espresso coffee with hints of chocolate and caramel.

omhper (26356) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 27, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2007 Very dark ruby in colour. Rich, roasty and very flavourful. Still velvetty soft, and very drinkable. Complex and well balanced.
